Have the NeverTrumpers found their candidate?

Forgive me, dear reader, for being late to the pooh-pooh party.

Commentators of a certain Numquam Trumpus disposition are apparently hitching their wagon to another lost cause two falls from now. After searching far and wide, in hills and in hollers, for a respectable challenger to the President’s domination of the Republican Party, it appears some perfervid anti-Trumpers have found their man.

Justin Amash, the von Mises-quoting congressman from Michigan, is the NeverTrump candidate for the next election. At least, that’s columnist Matt Lewis’s supposition. Writing in The Daily Beast, Lewis endorses a non-existent Amash bid, lauding his “moral courage” for joining Democrats in calling for Trump’s impeachment.

He couldn't get elected dog catcher in 2020.  He lost the support of the powerful, and wealthy Devos family.  He's toast.

   It's definitely Trump's election to blow and considering the many things he has failed at in his 70+ years on this planet it's certainly plausible. 
   Regardless of the reason for his failure, if he loses, past history tells us that the #Nevers will get the blame.

    The #Nevers seem to be a very misaligned, misidentified group of people that on one day are as insignificant as a gnat on a pigs azz and the next day they are considered the greatest threat to our Representative Republic, Rep. Amash is proof of that theorm.  We have essentially been elevated to one of the main reasons there is any angst in #MAGA Land.

     Incidentally, @sneakypete If the Dems have any chance of getting Texas 38 EV, I will vote for the President's re election, otherwise I'll probably sit it out or vote Constitution Party.

You seem to be conflating two distinct groups of #Nevers into one, @corbe

The #Nevers that cause real problems are those in Congress that actually do damage.

#Nevers like yourself, cranky old bastards that just like to snipe and complain from time to time, yet will do what needs to be done if pressed (as you note above), are harmless.
