The armed fugitive shot and killed by law enforcement outside a Fort Lauderdale mosque on Friday was wanted for a knife attack in Osceola County.
Police officers and U.S. Marshals had been looking for Hamid Ould-Rouis, who was accused of beating up a man and stabbing a woman nearly to death in Kissimmee early Thursday. The woman remains hospitalized in critical condition, Osceola deputies said.
After the attack, a judge issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder for Ould-Rouis, 58.
