I am no Ray Moore fan, but who the hell is junior and what business is it his for him to dictate what Alabamans want.   Keep your trap shut you freakin' yankee.

Geez, I'll be so glad when the  Trumps are gone once and for all.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

The South might be voting like the North if a great numbers of slaves did not flee to the North nor if Southern or Texan President Lyndon Johnson did not mode the "Great Society" programs.  @corbe  I believe I saw a stat that South Carolina even was 80% slave at one point.

You won't shame me, this is just history.  Others were saying other negative things, that's why I think such talk is divisive to begin with.

This is all very true.

And even worse the Socialist plans of the Democratic party continues to further enslave African Americans.  The Sanctuary city policies too since African Americans are most affected by these policies.  Places like Chicago where they Democratic Party leadership has failed the African American communities.  The schools are failures and the lack of direction leading to the crime has failed and produced dependency on a city that doesn't care about them.  Furthermore the Sanctuary policies further the problem by taking jobs that undereducated African Americans need and give them to illegal immigrants.

Yeah, sorry to crash the party on exclusivity, nobody needs the South's heritage of slavery or lynching, Romer1 doesn't need to lecture us on religion or the south, he abandoned the unborn.  Enough, of this one way drama here at the expense of others. It took real bravery to fight against a side that had this evil on its side, that being slavery. Slavery has nothing to do with being a good Christian, don't bully your bankrupt morals into this thread.

In the first damn place, I 'lectured' NO ONE on religion - @Sanguine  asked about a comment I made in passing, and I replied in two posts which only offered my practices, and that in a cheery and off-hand way.

In the second damn place, Nothing the hell AT ALL was said by me about the South, except again, an off-hand implied joke directly pointed at @Smokin Joe

And in the third damn place, the most scurrilous charge, I have neither 'abandoned the unborn' nor will I EVER.

I have ignored @TomSea 's insipid posts for years - Him being the only person to remain on my ignore list for extended periods of time - mostly because of his inability to type a coherent sentence...

But now I am calling him out.

Words from the mouths of babes, your way would have abandoned Christians in the Middle East. Syria and Iraq but you don't seem to know anything about fioreign policy to begin with.  That's what Trump's policy has done and that means stopping their slaughter from ISIS, yet, your way would have nullified that.  Your way would have continued persecution of Christians in the Middle East a la Obama,  your views are just too uninformed to even realize that in your anti-Trump rants.  I repeat, genocide against Christians would have likely continued with no GOP or Trump in the White House.

Too busy talking about Gog and Magog coming down from the North and the 144,000 saved to know about modern current events!

As for Romer, there seems to be a certain faith, he can't let go, without detracting remarks, so let's not be hypocrites, what? St. Jerome's Bible, Latin Vulgate, poor translation? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.  No authoritative position here, St. Jerome was just of the wrong faith.

@Chosen Daughter

My last word on the topic,  Jesus had humility too, end of topic.

Roy Moore is close to irrelevant, Mo Brooks will give him a good ol' Texas a$$ whupin', people like to dish it out but can't take it.

And maybe you don't represent Christianity either, if it would have abandoned Christians to the worse. I make no such claim.

But I'm not here just to shoot my mouth off about guns or whatever, just being self-promoting in all. That's it is just about me-me-me.

What a rant!  Unfortunately not any of it true.  My way?  What is my way?  I oppose ISIS just like any human being should do.  Of course I applaud the work of "defeating ISIS".  I don't think its quite time to declare them gone though.  And I don't think we should be negotiating peace with the Taliban when they are still blowing people up in Afghanistan either.  Furthermore with the escalation in Iran why would you want to pull troops from Afghanistan?  I also know who is a threat and who beheads people.  Who poses threats to Christians.   I am not any expert about foreign affairs but I do understand who borders who in the ME.   I do what I can.  I pray.  As for knowledge of foreign affairs I read a lot.  Here's some information for you that didn't come from Donald Trumps lips.

Why?  @Sighlass actually lives in Alabama. If I lived there I would be supporting Roy Moore as well.

Because it is a wasted vote!  Does NOT help the country.  Of course it is always about our OWN...FEELINGS.  NOT WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY.  I support Roy Moore, but he was so DAMAGED by demon-rats..IT IS DIFFICULT TO RECOVER FROM THAT,  & those lies will be wrought up again by DEMON-RATS.  ROY MOORE IS INNOCENT...but that does not matter to some.  Same with my INNOCENT PRESIDENT!  Make your vote...COUNT.

@TomSea

More information showing that Taliban is nowhere near peace even though Trump is asking Congress to pay for their expenses:

On the Edge of Afghanistan
A decimated economy, a resurgent Taliban, and growing tensions with Iran are driving disenchanted Afghans to seek opportunities abroad. And for many it’s their only option.

Of all of Afghanistan’s lawless provinces, Nimruz is perhaps the rawest and most untamed. The desert in southwestern Afghanistan, cornering up against Iran and Pakistan, looks like something out of Mad Max: a post-apocalyptic wasteland where only camel herders and smugglers seem to thrive. Sandstorms kick up without warning, swallowing the horizon in a thick beige mist. Out of the haze, a group of motorcyclists suddenly rides past, their hair stiff with grit and their eyes hidden by goggles.
This is wild country.

Nimruz is a microcosm of what has gone wrong in the Afghan war. The province’s lawlessness is a testament to the Western-backed government’s failure to assert authority and curtail rogue strongmen. As Afghanistan’s drug-smuggling hub, it provides a financial artery for the Taliban, who appear stronger than ever. And because of its largely unprotected borders, and complicity from the few forces that actually guard them, it has long been a gateway for the growing number of Afghans who, facing increasing violence and a stagnant economy, have simply lost hope that their motherland can be their home.
Despite the dangers that await — kidnappers, insurgents, corrupt border guards, and some 16,000 square miles of merciless terrain — what lies beyond the wilderness calls to young Afghan men like sirens in the desert..........

https://foreignpolicy.com/2017/09/12/on-the-edge-of-afghanistan-taliban-iran-war-united-states/

Common Enemies
Iran has ramped up its support due to recent events in Afghanistan, namely Washington’s erratic policy switch—from Obama’s scheduled drawdown in 2014 to the now seemingly done deal involving increased U.S. support, as evidenced by the recent dropping of the “mother-of-all-bombs.” The Trump administration’s u-turn has created the uncertainty in Afghanistan. This uncertainty may have played a role in influencing Iran to hedge its bets vis-à-vis Afghan actors, in particular the Taliban.
With the cooling period in U.S.-Iranian relations, after the new U.S. administration entered office, Iran’s leaders are concerned once again about the United States using Afghanistan as a base from which to launch a potential attack on their country. Thus in the short term, at least, the Taliban is furthering Iranian interests via its insurgency against the U.S.-backed government.

The rise of ISIS in the eastern part of the country is also of great concern to Iran. ISIS, which wields the most acute hostility toward Shiites, has recruited fighters to Iran’s west in Iraq and to its east in Afghanistan. Unlike the Taliban, ISIS ideology is transnational and can be used to stir up Iran’s restive Sunni populations. Yet, also unlike the native Taliban, the transnational terrorist group depends upon a nexus of recruiting, coopting, and coercing local groups in Afghanistan. The Taliban has grown to become one of ISIS’ primary enemies in Afghanistan, as ISIS competes with the Taliban, and aims to peel away disaffected fighters from Taliban ranks. Taliban and ISIS fighters regularly clash; in early May, more than two dozen fighters were left dead after an encounter in eastern Nangarhar province.

By providing limited support to the Taliban, Iran is hitting two birds with one stone: creating a buffer against ISIS and preventing the United States from using Afghanistan as a base against Iran.

Just to be clear.  I only responded because religion is used by some as a opportunity to persecute people because they are believers.  Religion would not have entered before someone says things like "would Jesus".....etc.  Begging the believer to enter into a discussion of faith.  If they don't want people to mention their faith they shouldn't lead them into it.
