Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said he believes Attorney General Bill Barr "clearly is protecting" President Trump and "advocating his point of view" on issues during an interview on "America's Newsroom" on Friday.

Wallace was reacting to fellow anchor Bill Hemmer's interview with Barr during the attorney general's trip to El Salvador. It was Barr's first interview following the release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report on his investigation into Russia's election meddling in April.

"What really comes across to me [about the Barr interview] most of all is that for two years Donald Trump sat there and said 'I don’t have an attorney general.' I don’t have somebody out there looking for an protecting my interests,' said Wallace. "He clearly has that now with Bill Barr.


"Not saying that Barr isn’t right in everything he says. But he clearly is protecting this President and advocating his point of view on a lot of these issues," the "Fox News Sunday" anchor continued. "And I suspect that as President Trump, who probably has watched some of this interview himself, is saying finally, 'No Jeff Sessions, Bill Barr instead.' ”

Wallace apparently believes there's nothing suspicious or worth investigating about the Steele Dossier, who commissioned it or the manner in which it was used, nor the vindication or Hillary Clinton, nor the leaks to the press timed for maximum damage to the president all throughout the Mueller probe, even in light of the results of the Mueller probe itself. And on and on.

Such lack of curiosity in a 'journalist'.

He's attributing a motive to Barr that would cast him in a negative light Wallace cannot possibly know to be true. Its purely subjective and inappropriate for someone who wants to be thought of as impartial.

It's defamation and slander.  And it's a tool the leftists (commies) have always used against their opponents/enemies.  It works quite well... especially with the deliberately dumbed down and indoctrinated, ignorant masses.... and with a complicit leftist media.  The only question I have is.... are we going to keep letting them get away with it... right here in the USA (ie NOT a commie country)?   Or is the rule of law going to be .... finally.... upheld.   They fear that Barr may make the latter come true.   I'm hoping their fears are well-founded.

Well, some of them are already scrambling like rats (or roaches) on a sinking ship.  Some of them (Obama) are in hiding, and suddenly silent (out of fear, perhaps)?   I'm loving the thought of them finally being held responsible for their treachery and treason.   I'm just not convinced that the very highest up traitors will ever be made to pay.
