"The Amazon Belongs to Brazil and not Humanity," says Brazilian General | The Rio Times
By Arkady Petrov

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “Managing the world’s largest rainforest is a Brazilian affair, and foreigners must stop interfering with the Amazon,” said the Chief Minister of the Gabinete de Segurança Institucional GSI (The Institutional Security Office), General Augusto Heleno, writes Brazilian news outlet Exame in its latest report.

“I do not accept this story that the Amazon is heritage of humanity. That is absolute nonsense”, he said in an interview at the Presidential Planalto Palace. “The Amazon is Brazilian. It is Brazilian heritage and must be dealt with by Brazil, for the benefit of Brazil.”

The General’s speech coincides with the government’s plans to review existing conservation areas amid growing pressure from mining and agriculture lobbies.

President Jair Bolsonaro cancelled a trip to New York after Mayor Bill de Blasio and activists criticized him for issues. These include his stance on the Amazon rainforest, the conservation of which is critical to the climate change debate, according to scientists.

[Men sing] There's a place called the rainforest; it truly sucks ass.
[Women sing] Let's knock it all down and get rid of it fast.
[Men sing] You say, "Save the rainforest," but what do you know?
[All sing] You've never been to the rainforest before.
[Chorus] Getting Gay With Kids is here!
To tell you things you might not like to hear.
You only fight these causes 'cause caring sells.
All you activists can go ++++ yourselves!

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Nice to see an assertion of sovereignty over their national turf. One way to stymie the Global Socialists' control schemes is to assert dominance over your own natural resources. Unfortunately, the US is all over this world heritage site dreck, and while I'm not for capriciously destroying anything, I AM for the ability to use our own resources as we see fit without international interference, especially from the socialists in the UN.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
