Buttigieg is eager to set up, and knock down, a straw man. With Pence, who's a religious traditionalist, Buttigieg had to lie about his own knowledge of Pence's praise of his achievements. With Trump, he seeks to make the point that he's monogamous and Trump, at least in the past, was clearly not.
