Warren Buffett SLAYS Suggestion of Socialism
 

The Oracle of Omaha didn’t hold back in when questioned on his belief in the system.

“I’m a card-carrying capitalist,” Buffett declared at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting.
 
“I believe we wouldn’t be sitting here except for the market system and the rule of law on some things that are embodied in this country,” Buffett said. “So you don’t have to worry about me changing in that manner.”

It’s refreshing to hear that Buffett has some appreciation for the system that allowed him to make all of his achievements. As such, Buffett strongly rebuked the idea of turning the country over to socialism.

Unregulated Capitalism is Fascism,and he is in favor of that because he is wealthy enough to be a member of the ruling class,and as always,the ruling class makes the rules to insure they never lose any money and the laws don't apply to them.

A dictatorship by any other name is still a dictatorship.

BTW,for the 987,231 time,there is NOTHING even the tiniest big "liberal" about the left,so why do you and other people call them liberals?

I would think Buffet is probably more of a Libertarian than what is  a Democrat today. I doubt Buffet and the other super-wealthy billionaires like Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg, and the other super rich types who vote for Dems would like to junk the economic system that made them a mountain of moolah. They think they can make a lot of money while virtue-signaling their love for the masses and "social justice."
What they don't understand is that while most Americans still prefer capitalism over socialism, younger Americans are becoming fonder and fonder of socialism.
Buffet will be dead by then, but twenty/thirty years from now making that amount of money might be banned by the ignorati.
Nothing is permanent. Reagan said that every generation is just one generation away from losing freedom.

No, it isn't even close.  They are actually mutually exclusive.

Fascism requires heavy government control/influence over the economy and private enterprise. Businesses are  still privately owned, but the government controls/regulates it for the benefit of the industrialists and the state, working in tandem.  It's sweetheart government deals, limiting competition to keep the wealthy on top, etc..

If you have unregulated capitalism, then by definition the government is not favoring companies with regulation or sweetheart deals/legislation.  And if government doesn't have power over business, then business can't get power over the government because there is no mechanism to do so.

That doesn't mean that unregulated capitalism is entirely good.  It just means that it isn't fascism.

But we don't have unregulated capitalism.  That's precisely the point.

Businesses try to gain control over government so they can pass laws and regulations that favor their particular business.  But as soon as you do that...you don't have unregulated capitalism.  You have highly regulated capitalism, with markets rigged to benefit those businesses.  And as long as the government is passing regulations to control businesses, those same businesses have a huge incentive to try to influence government.  If nobody is writing regulations, why do you need lobbyists?

But if government didn't regulate business,  there's not much point in businesses trying to gain control over government because it can't do anything to help them.  They're at the mercy of the free market because the government won't/can't intervene.

The more power you give government over business, the more power business is eventually going to seek and have over the people running the government.
