Islamic apologists in the West, if they say anything about this at all, will claim that Brunei is implementing a strict interpretation of Sharia, and that other interpretations are more humane. However, everywhere Sharia has been implemented, it looks pretty much the same: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan, the Islamic State, etc. There are so many Misunderstanders of Islam out there!
