No!  You don't get it!   I like most of Trump's policies that have brought jobs and prosperity.   I want to just lose the chaos so I can keep the prosperity.  I bear no ill will toward Donald Trump,  but the dynamic of history is using him in a dangerous way.

On a fundamental level,  we should not want the same thing the Democrats want.   The Democrats want Trump to be our nominee.  Think about it.

The tone to be taken by a challenger is critical.  The message should be simply stated -  we can best keep the prosperity by losing the chaos.

At that point, we'll hear about "pragmatism" and the need to return to true conservatism: free markets, strengthening NATO alliances, reducing deficits, and less perceived chumminess with Putin.
       We'll hear that perhaps a "less divisive standard bearer" could make a better argument for border security. We'll hear about the results of the midterm auguring no path for Trump with the blue wall of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin being rebuilt, and the need to cull together a ticket who can continue the economic prosperity without the daily circus.

I have supported Trump practically from the start, so my record is clear – I have been right and those opposed to Trump have been wrong: Trump won the debates (they said he’d flounder), Trump won the primary (they said he’d lose), Trump won the republican nomination (they said he’d lose the electoral vote at the convention), Trump defeated Clinton (they said Clinton would win).

I understand the difficulty.    I think what has to happen is an appeal to Trump's sense of history, and his common sense as a businessman.    The founder's direction has been good, but new management is needed.

I agree with you.  President Trump needs to expand his base; though the strength of his base just may surprise.  If the Blacks and Hispanics are paying attention, Trump has lowered their unemployment numbers to the lowest in History.  That message needs to be made loud and clear.  Now is the time to work on that expansion.

No GOP candidate that I can think of could beat Trump.  No one.  Cruz possibly, but I don't see him challenging him again.  The attempt would be his last if he lost and he's no fool.  So ... with that being stated, we're already into 2019, and if a challenger was going to come forward they would need to do it now.  Mittens has already geared up to raise monies for Trump's opponent, but again, who is going to challenge him and succeed?? 

Secondly, the left has numerous really bad socialist leaning candidates.  Jeb is calling for someone to oppose Trump; meaning we need a RINO.  NEWSFLASH: RINO'S haven't won in the past, and they certainly won't win in 2020.

I personally like the Constitution Party and what they represent; they need to find someone to run with strong name recognition with some money behind them and a following...I don't see that happening in time for the 2020 election.

The people voted a clear indication of what they wanted last election.  It was border control and jobs for "citizens".  Trump screwed up with his inaction for two years until Democrats took control.  He signed legislation he shouldn't have.  Especially the last spending bill that included giving away the ability to fully secure the border.

It could be that there is someone that could beat Trump, but if Jeb thinks its the Bush family type he is sorely mistaken.

“Over the years, immigration lawyers and judges have cleverly taken statutes and flipped them 180 degrees to use for amnesty,” he said. “Now Congress is green lighting it in plain language. You cannot imagine the cascading affects of this.”
