Pakistan says 'will respond' to Indian air raids on its territory

5-7 minutes

Islamabad, Pakistan - Pakistan says it reserves the right to respond to Indian air raids on its territory early on Tuesday morning and has called a meeting of its top nuclear command authority, as tensions peak between the South Asian neighbours.

Indian air attacks struck near the northern Pakistani village of Jaba, witnesses and the Pakistani military said, located about 10km west of the border with Pakistan-administered Kashmir, and 60km from the Line of Control that divides Indian and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

India's foreign secretary said the "non-military pre-emptive action" targeted a training camp for armed group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which claimed a suicide attack earlier this month that killed 42 Indian security forces personnel and brought tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours to a boil.

Boiling point is right. It seems one incident could really escalate this.

Yes, a lot of action last night. Live updates above.

This already sounds worse than the last time, these two went at it.

Also, the Pakistanis have already taken an alleged "Indian Pilot", shaken up by the shoot-down before cameras.

Also, I'm hearing it less but they say a Pakistan Jet too was shot down. I do hear less on this 2nd story.

As I've said before, if India and Pakistan ever "go nuclear" on each other, India will suffer very heavy losses, but will survive.

Pakistan, however, will be.... gone.

And the world will become a better place without it.
