Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., argued on Sunday that her experience as a former state attorney general qualifies her to be president because the United States will need a leader who “knows how to prosecute the case” against President Trump.

Harris, who is running for the White House in 2020, made the comment at a campaign stop in Iowa when she was asked how she can beat Trump.

“We’re gonna need a fighter … and we’re going to need somebody who knows how to prosecute the case against this president,” the California Democrat said.

The remark was reminiscent of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., saying earlier this month that Trump “may not even be a free person” in 2020. Warren is also running for president.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has been investigating for nearly two years Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

So far no Trump campaign staffers have been indicted for conspiring with the Russians to win the election.

Mueller is also said to be investigating whether Trump obstructed the Russia investigation.
