Trump plots Independence Day parade

President Trump said Tuesday heâ€™s thinking about putting on a Fourth of July parade or other gathering in Washington, D.C., suggesting it could â€œbecome a tradition," even though a similar event already exists.

Trump suggested during a Cabinet meeting that his proposed event could take place at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall.

â€œIt could be an exciting day,â€ Trump said, calling it a "salute to America."

"It'll be a, really a gathering as opposed to a parade I guess you'd have to say," he continued. "Perhaps at the Lincoln Memorial, we're looking at sites. But we're thinking about doing something which would become perhaps become a tradition, Salute to America, on July 4th or July 4th weekend somewhere around that area."

My town has the largest July 4th parade West of the Mississippi.

Since 1904.It is a very big deal with a lot of tradition.

It doesn't matter what my thoughts are about the outcome if he doesn't succeed. My thoughts on that doesn't change the fact that crazy-ass Trump supporters (and Trump himself) going around and telling people that he doesn't need their support is just stupid.

I see nothing wrong with a wonderful 4th of July Parade and I don't understand why the headline reads 'plots'?? How about plans? Or talks about?

If we can talk the female attendees out of the bleep hats, all should be well.

In headline talk, everything Donald Trump plans, he plots, schemes or touts.

I keep wondering @corbe ... your idol Ted Cruz did not sit around whining and nursing grievances over primary insults. Ted almost immediately began to support our Republican President and has done a great job of it.

Right now, Ted is trying to grab all that El Chapo money and direct it toward a border wall.

You could learn a lot from Ted.

Thanks for posting those pictures @Right_in_Virginia What a great looking crowd!! So impressed with the bright cheerful, wholesomeness of all the faces there. What a contrast with the whiny downbeat crowds the left dredges up.
