The Truth About Border Walls’ Effectiveness

Peter Parisi / February 10, 2019

“Everyone is entitled to his own opinion but not to his own facts.”

That pithy observation is attributed to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who served in the Senate from 1977 to 2001.

The final two years of Moynihan’s stint in the Senate overlapped the first two years of that of his fellow New York Democrat, Sen. Charles Schumer.

President Donald Trump, at a rally set for Monday night on the border in El Paso, Texas, should remind Schumer of Moynihan’s maxim in their fight over the need for more walls and fencing along the U.S.-Mexican border to help stem the flood tide of illegal immigration.

Walls work.
Higher and stronger walls work BETTER.

Everyone KNOWS that.
And that's why they're so opposed to the existence of a border barrier.

That applies particularly to a few members of this forum (most of whom I have on ignore)...

While a wall is a physical barrier, infinitely more
critical is what it represents/radiates, namely fear.
Imperial Rome built no walls (excepting Hadrian's in Britannia).
Why??? Because they infused fear in their mortal enemies.
Third world excrement swarms here because they have no
fear of the consequences, given our political assholery!!!

Do you seriously expect the US to infuse fear, Roman style?  I think the 21st Century public might recoil at the sight of heads on pikes.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

Paraphrasing the wise Machiavelli:
"It is far better the nation/state be feared, rather than loved".
Rome prospered for 13 centuries while we are a tad past 2.
Great nations behave accordingly or they are NOT!
We either wise up or we pass away.
Apparently, some think compassion and piety will make us great.
Hmm..........................

Maybe crucifixions would work?
