Ideally one could have common sense and a genius level IQ.
The possession of the former would strongly inform against bragging about the latter in public.
The mention of the former is only necessary when the absurd accusation is made that the presence of constitutional principles indicates that it is absent.
And the presence of moral and political principles is proof positive of the presence of common sense while mindless gushing about a politician almost certainly indicates its absence.
