Thanks Hoodat  :amen:
We are on the downhill slide to socialism.  Trump was just a bump in the road heading towards that end.  Conservatism will just be a footnote in history...sadly.  People who take the view of conservatism or nothing, are going to get nothing.  You'll never see another conservative president...

Sadly this is the truth.....

Another thing Donald declared.  No socialism but the illegal immigrant problem is mass socialism.  Well Berny Sanders declared his intent today.  We can have socialism with almost all of the candidates or Donald Trump.  Socialism increased alright under Trump.  What do we call the family leave?
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

You are absolutely correct.  I cringe when I see some of the things Trump does.  I try to focus on the positive.

@Chosen Daughter

It was a nice sentiment, and the kind of thing that inspires people to applaud.  But it’s not realistic.  I’m sorry, but anyone who thinks this country is going to be magically restored to a time of reason, sanity, and conservative values hasn’t been paying attention.

The modern generation has decided upon voluntary extinction. Birth rates are down. Suicides are up.

Whether they choose "socialism" or "capitalism" may be a moot point if they choose not to exist.

Not to worry!  We have immigrants coming in by the thousands to keep the population up.  Can't imagine what they'll vote for....lol.

No he's not.  'm sick and tired of this "Trump is the Messiah" narrative.

Whenever this country has needed saving...it's been the people that save this nation...not one man.

If you pin your hopes of a better tomorrow on one single individual...you're going to be greatly and continually disappointed in the long run.

@txradioguy

 Exactly.

My take on it, for what it’s worth, is that people want a king.  It’s in our genes, going all the way back to Old Testament days.  Two hundred years of swimming against that current has been successful in many ways, but not completely.  We still want that strong leader to look up to in awe, to cheer for, and to fix things.

One thing I've learned here.  These Briefers who still maintain a viral dislike for Donald Trump  .  .  .

That's just it.  I don't have a viral dislike for Donald Trump.  On the contrary, I actually like the man.  I am amazed at his ability to deflect the usual political criticism and to overcome the loss of many friends and admirers simply because he left the Democrat plantation.  On a personal level, I also greatly admire his unsung charity and compassion that very few even know about.  But then Trump isn't the issue.  Liberalism is.  And when Trump chooses the liberal course, I will not remain silent.  I have criticized Nixon, Reagan, and both Bushes for liberal positions.  Trump is no different.  I have also praised Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes for Conservative positions.  Again, Trump is no different.

They hang on to the Conservative label because they believe it gives them safe haven here.

That's hysterical.  You really think I give a damn whether I am allowed to post here or not?  If your "safe haven" claim had any merit, then I would be back at TOS swearing off any hint of being a Conservative before guzzling down a heaping pitcher of McCain-Noot-Trump Kool-Aid just so I could have "safe haven".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What an idiotic thing to say!

These Briefers are selfish narcissists.  Too stupid to see that the entire country is split down the middle.  Too stupid to see that in order to have any power or influence, you must first win an election.

Ah, back to the political argument.  It's OK to sell out the country as long as you are able to seize political power.  So tell us, DC.  Now that you have that power and influence, why are you punishing us with $2 trillion annually of new debt?  Why are you continuning to release illegals into this country as they await asylum hearings they will never show up for?  Why aren't you prosecuting a single illegal for violating existing border laws?  Why are you implementing trade policies that are causing reductions in exports?  Because if this is what you do with power, we are no better off than we were with the last group.

I don't give a shit that Donald Trump isn't a Conservative thoroughbred.

That part is obvious.

Can you imagine the country today, if Hillary had won?

Can you imagine the country today if a Conservative had won?  Three vacancies remain unfilled on the 9th Circuit - seats that could right now be critical in getting an emergency wall built.  $4 trillion going directly to entitlements - many of which are being paid out to illegals - that could have been available as investment income for vast wealth creation instead.  A retreat from federal involvement in our health care market beginning with the repeal of Obamacare followed by lifting the prohibition against interstate commerce instead of having ObamaCare stamped permanently into American society as we do now.

But then you have already stated your disdain for Conservatism.  So you should be right at home with a leftist 9th Circuit, deficits greater than Obama's, and stifling federal over-regulation of the health care market.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

I do not believe conservatism will die unless the USA ends as the nation we know it to be.  Yes, we have more fruitloops running around with limited to no knowledge of anything, but the good news is that studies show 2nd generation Hispanics tend to be conservative.  Their families have come, gotten established, often own businesses and they are conservative.

Trump will most likely win, but he will have a very close election.  Clinton will do far better this time than last in her campaign, and she is a genuine threat.

You are talking about immigrants who came here bringing the American Dream with them.  Unfortunately, our federal government no longer wants this type of immigrant.  They make it more and more difficult for this type of immigrant to come here and become a responsible productive member of society.  Instead, our federal government attracts the wrong type of immigrant - the immigrant willing to break laws, game the system, and become a leech to society demanding their fair share of 'free stuff'.

STOP GIVING OUT FREE SHIT, AND YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE A BORDER PROBLEM !!

It really is that simple.  Why in the hell can't we get Trump sycophants here on board with this?

I agree, it is not that simple.  Giving out free sh*t must end, and Congress has failed the American people.  But the frees stuff will not stop the illegal invading aliens.  Can we please cease referring to these illegal invading aliens as immigrants.  They are not immigrants.

My wife was an immigrant, and I paid a couple thousand dollars in form fees to the federal government to process her into this country.  And we waited six years for a person that was a spouse of a USA citizen.

I fully support the immediate deportation of all illegal aliens and the end of refugee status as it exists today.  Anyone saying we do not have a crisis is an idiot.

Part of the crisis is abortion however.  We are destroying roughly 1 million lives every year, which I believe is part of the reason that opened the flood gates of illegals pouring into the country.

Sorry about that @Cyber Liberty  but talk about a bunch of sorry ass whiners you wouldn't want with you in a foxhole, it's dam depressing.

The fact is, that we have some fringe socialists emerging in the democrat party but they are a joke. We had a serious socialist candidate in 2016 and a closet socialist in 2016 and they both lost.

I think we are actually on the way to a stronger way of life in our country.

It's really sad that I see more hope and happiness on my Facebook page than the last bunch of people on a supposed GOP thread could muster.

@Sanguine   You could not be more right.  I wish I hadn't read it, but I came on it unexpectedly when I first got up.

Whatever they say, it all boils down to a kind of two-year old petulance because Trump took their cookies or something.  The man who came the closest to winning, Ted Cruz, immediately manned up and has supported the President and his good programs.

I'm getting less and less tolerant of those people and I think they are ruining this forum

Fortunately, there are some excellent people left, but the idiots and whiners just love to type out their hate.

@Emjay, they don't think they're running the forum; they* respond they way they do because they are very fearful and that comes out as anger.  But, every once in a while they are correct and on that can be valuable.
