Analysis: What’s next for Virginia Gov. Northam?
« on: February 02, 2019, 02:48:15 pm »
By Philip Bump | Washington Post

Political fortunes rarely shift as quickly as did Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s.

After a week in which he attracted national attention for remarks on abortion, a photograph emerged on Friday from his medical college yearbook, showing a man dressed in blackface standing beside a man in Klan robes.

In a statement, Northam, D, admitted that he was in the photo, but declined to identify which costume was his own.

The furor that resulted was both predictable and fast-burning, leading to an obvious question that no politician ever wants to face: What comes next?

Here are the possibilities.

1.  Northam resigns.

2. The Virginia legislature moves to impeach Northam.

3.  Northam remains in office.

Posted elsewhere, but I'll repeat myself:

What this guy should do:

Call a press conference.
Walk in the door, up to the mike and make this statement:

"Yes, that's me in the picture.
It was a long time ago, when I was younger and more callous than I am today.
I wouldn't do it again.
I will not resign and will continue to serve my duly-elected term.
If you don't like it, you can kiss my a##.
Ladies and gentlemen, that's the end of this press conference."

... and then, walk back out the door.

No punishment, in my opinion, is too great, for the man who can build his greatness upon his country's ruin~  George Washington

Let him twist in the wind for a while so we can get back to the democrats' preference for infanticide.

Here is what happened. Someone in the Dim Party plans on running for president in 2020,and saw him as  a threat to their fund-raising as well as to their campaign. Since there can be no doubt he was on the fast track to run for the nomination before this,he was a threat to everyone on the left planning on running.

He is no longer a political threat to anyone. No one from the far left to the far right wants him.

This is all a guessing game, but my pick is it was Terrible Terry McAulliffe that was behind firing this torpedo.

Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
