Quote
A jury awarded Sen. Rand Paul more than half a million dollars Wednesday in a civil suit against the neighbor who attacked him, according to multiple reports.

Rene Boucher, who attacked Paul from behind while he was doing yard work at his Bowling Green, Ky., home, now owes the Kentucky Republican $580,000 in damages.

Boucher pleaded guilty in March 2018 to assaulting a member of Congress for the incident. Boucher, who had faced 21 months, was sentenced in June to 30 days in prison and a year of supervised release after the judge said the attack was a dispute between neighbors and not politically motivated.

Paul filed suit later that month, claiming in the suit left him with an "increased likelihood of, and susceptibility to, injury and disease." He sought compensatory and punitive damages.

It should involve jail time for the neighbor.
Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain.

No jail time in Civil Suits.

Paul was awarded $$$ but in many cases, the victim never sees the $$.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

That is because a lot of slobs who get sued are judgement proof, meaning they have no money to take, but this guy has a business and assets. He can also have his wages/salary garnished. This piece of filth will be paying the half mill.
