Special counsel Robert Mueller's office issued a rare statement Friday disputing a report from BuzzFeed that President Trump had told his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” special counsel spokesperson Peter Carr said in a statement to BuzzFeed released on Friday night.

Carr did not immediately respond to The Hill's request for additional comment.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” special counsel spokesperson Peter Carr said in a statement to BuzzFeed released on Friday night.

Mark Levin is claiming success for forcing this statement from Mueller due to Levin demanding the Justice Department force Mueller and his team to submit to a polygraph as they were the only possible origin of the Buzzfeed reports.

I do believe Levin is why they had to issue the statement, as it was just 30-minutes after his demands that Mueller issued the statement.

The words used by Mueller's office were something like this, "Buzzfeed's characterization of documents and testimony was not accurate."

Buzzfeed says they are continuing to report and determining what the Special Counsel is disputing. "We remain confident in the accuracy of our report."

One of the Buzzfeed's reporters was to be on CNN and at the last minute when the Mueller office statement came out, the reporter was pulled back by Buzzfeed.
