Go Pats!
Y'all just hate Belichek because he wins. Over and over.
I have a complicated relationship with Belichick.
He has shown he's human. The '90s Browns, for example. He's a brilliant football mind, but it's only the combination of him with Brady that has made him the juggernaut he is today. His teams would still be very good without Brady, but beatable.
Brady's the one that raises my suspicions. It just reminds me of Lance Armstrong during his Tour de France days. Back then everyone thought he was simply the greatest racer in the history of cycling. It turned out that he, and Floyd Landis after him, had taken part in a massive doping and evasion scheme. I mean, you don't go 19 years in a sport this brutal and still have the same success, year in and year out, the way Tom Brady has. He's never had a losing season. He's only missed the playoffs once, and that was way back in 2002 (when they went 9-7). The second-longest playoff drought in the Super Bowl era, behind only the first 20 years of the Saints' existence, was in Brady's division (and amazingly, that team, the Bills, in all 17 years, never had a first-overall draft pick, so you can't say it was entirely sheer incompetence). This is despite everything around Brady changing and the team never having high draft picks.
The other guy I'm not particularly fond of is their owner, Bob Kraft. Back in the late 1980s, when the original owner Billy Sullivan went bankrupt, Kraft couldn't get his hand on the team, so he bought their (woefully inadequate) stadium and told them they couldn't leave. So, the guy who did buy the team, Victor Kiam, couldn't do anything with it... then sold it to James Orthwein, who likewise couldn't get out of the lease... before Kraft, in his master plan, launched the hostile takeover. All the cheating starts at the top.
