Democrats are floating canceling the Super Bowl in order to push to end what is now the longest government shutdown in history, according to a report quoting several Democrat lawmakers.

Fox News reports a Democrat lawmaker confirmed that during a meeting of the House Democrat Conference–of which Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the leader–on Thursday morning, discussion of the shutdown’s effects on the Super Bowl caused a ruckus.

“A House Democratic Caucus meeting was roiled Thursday morning after one representative floated the possibility that the ongoing partial federal government shutdown might affect federal authorities’ ability to secure the upcoming Super Bowl,” Fox News’ Chad Pergram and Gregg Re reported.

Another example of the dems losing touch with reality.  They can no more cancel the Super Bowl than Nancy Pelosi can go on a trip to Afghanistan to offend servicemen and women on the government's dime.

Gee... yet another Dem-contrived "focused on security" excuse for obstructing Trump's agenda.  Are they really so stupid.... that they can't discern the irony and hypocrisy behind their idiocy?  (rhetorical question)

I have gone three seasons boycotting the NFL.  Whether they play the Super Bowl is of no consequence to most of America.  They have LOST 30-40% of their viewers, and I do not think that will change any time soon.

The Super Bowl is no longer the event it once was.  Thanks to the stupidity of Colin Kaepernick, the NFL has been choking on its decision to honor this fool and those in the NFL that insult our flag.  If not for this great nation, these morons would not have the freedom to have such rewarding careers. 

So, go ahead and cancel the Super Bowl due to lack of interest.

Whether you are mad at the NFL is not the issue.  The issue is that the Super Bowl is a private event, not under the purview of the government or Nancy Pelosi.

I was VERY interested until the Cowboys lost.  Now, not so much.  Probably won't watch it but it shouldn't be cancelled for political reasons.

I can see it now, the Democommies blame Trump for the Super Bowl being canceled.  He is according to them, the root cause for all wrongs.

Two years of putting up with their impeach 45 nonsense, and I sure hope America awakens and votes them all out.  The GOP is no gem either, but they do have moments of lucid thought, versus the utter and total stupidity of the Democommies.

If you'd get your head out from underneath a rock, you'd learn that 1) Kaepernick has been banned from the league and 2) probably because of that, the NFL's viewership is back up again.

If you want to blame anybody for the Super Bowl not being what it once was, forget Kaepernick. Tom Brady is the real problem. Nobody wants to see the same guy over and over and over again, yet that's what the NFL forces upon people.

Withholding a thing can be tricky. We had a 5 star programmer who was excellent. He decided that he was mad about this or that, whatever, so he stopped coming into work. He expected the whole operation to fold and everyone to come crawling and begging. Nothing changed really. It was a little difficult for a couple of weeks. We got a new coder and that was that. I don't know if the guy ever found a new job. He threw away a great opportunity. I know that.

The point is, if the NFL ever stops the SuperBowl, there is no guarantee that it would ever be the same again. You don't crap where you eat. And the SuperBowl is where the NFL eats.

I like watching Brady.  I haven't been because I now only watch college ball, but Brady isn't the problem.
