Majority in poll want Trump impeached or censured
By Max Greenwood - 12/28/18 11:18 AM EST

Nearly 60 percent of U.S. voters surveyed say President Trump should be either impeached and removed from office or formally censured, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.

The poll shows that a majority of voters polled think some kind of action should be taken against Trump, though they are divided on how far lawmakers should go as Democrats prepare to take over the House majority.

Asked whether Trump should be impeached and removed from office for his actions, censured by Congress or whether Congress should take no action, 39 percent of respondents said Trump should be impeached and removed from office.

Impeachment would require a majority vote by the House — a possibility with a Democratic majority, though leadership in the party have been cautious on the topic. Conviction in the Senate would require a two-thirds vote, something unlikely in a body that will have 53 Republicans.

Twenty percent of poll respondents said lawmakers should vote to formally censure the president.

This is about as valid as the poll naming Michelle Obama most admired woman.  Probably interviewed a whole bunch of liberal/socialists (not a representative sample) and I'll bet a good many of them don't really know what impeachment is.

It would've been interesting to know what this majority believes Trump should be impeached or censured for.

Exactly.  Not liking Trump doesn't qualify as grounds for impeachment.

I don't believe those who were polled understand the meaning of the word Impeachment.  But then there are a lot of words they probably don't understand.

I'm always asking liberals that when impeachment comes up. I've yet to get an answer other than outrage that I would ask that.

Repeat the headline, 3-4 times, with little/no further information.

That is "journalism" now.

FTA:

Quote
39 percent of respondents said Trump should be impeached and removed from office.

Twenty percent of poll respondents said lawmakers should vote to formally censure the president.  (I'd bet good money not one of them knows what a formal censure is … or why it's given)

Forty-one percent of respondents said Congress should take no action against the president, according to the survey of 1,473 registered voters.

Don't miss this psychobabble, especially the last paragraph:

Quote
The Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll online survey of 1,473 registered voters was conducted from Dec. 24-26.

The Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll is a collaboration of the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University and The Harris Poll. The Hill will be working with Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll throughout 2018.

Full poll results will be posted online later this week. The Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey is an online sample drawn from the Harris Panel and weighted to reflect known demographics. As a representative online sample, it does not report a probability confidence interval.

Polls have proven to be no longer reliable and certainly skewed to obtain the desirable outcome.

Most people with at least some common sense realize that trying to impeach President Trump is nothing but a waste of taxpayers money and would only function to try to appease the liberal leftist mental midgets and keep them riled and feeling that there still might be hope after Clinton was defeated.   :rolling:  Do these same idiots even realize that they'd be replacing President Trump with VP Pence??

A typical maleducated "responder," is unlikely to know much, if anything about the prospect of "Impeachment," much less that Clinton WAS impeached, but Nixon was NOT.

The Left/Media know full well they have the power to manipulate, propogandize, and change public opinions.

LOL. Harvard CAPS? Only the douchebags at The Hill would find this credible enough to make news.

That is "journalism" now.

The purpose of all these “result of poll” headlines is to obfuscate rather than to clarify, knowing well that most people will read the headline, confirm their biases, then simply move on without delving any deeper.

Exactly.  Not liking Trump doesn't qualify as grounds for impeachment.

If it does we will basically have a parliamentary system, the president will serve at the pleasure of congress.
