So here we are, during Christmas week, and things are a mess, with the 25 percent of the federal government that is now unfunded shut down because no agreement could be reached in Congress.

Ironically, the Department of Homeland Security is among those affected, when the brouhaha is about homeland and border security to begin with; specifically funding for a border wall...or steel slatted fence...or something. ("A rose by any other name...")

Right before the shutdown, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, pushing back against the bid to add border funds, railed that what the nation needs is "...smart border enforcement, not a medieval wall."

It would appear that most elected members of the federal government for the past several decades have been dead-set against it.

If there is an 'R' after their name, it is likely they had that opinion after the ballots were counted. Prior to that, they'll say anything to appease their voters.

Back in 1986 when Reagan gave amnesty, THAT was with the understanding & agreement by democrats, they would support the wall being built. DEMOCRATS ...RENEGED on that promise. I put it ALL squarely on the democrats.  An R behind the name does not mean a real republican.   Besides our wall would have a DOOR...port of entry, not like Berlin Wall. People can come in LEGALLY......

You know THAT is just a silly comparison.  Vatican has walls with private military. Every wealthy person, celebrity has a WALL, SECURITY.  First thing YOUR OBAMA did was build a HUGE BRICK WALL around his newly purchased house in D.C. to continue to undermine and agitate MY PRESIDENT. 
Israel has a wall. Guatemala has a wall with wire fencing...and on and on..Heck Mexico has their border patrol, wall!   
Tijuana.  Every country has some sort of border, or wall protection, but AMERICA SHOULD...NOT?
