GUATEMALA CITY (AP) — The Latest on an 8-year-old Guatemalan boy who died in U.S. custody (all times local):

10:30 p.m.

New Mexico authorities say an autopsy performed on the 8-year-old Guatemalan boy who died in U.S. custody shows he had the flu.

The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator says in a statement late Thursday that more tests need to be done before a cause of death can be determined for Felipe Gomez Alonzo.

Authorities say Felipe Gomez Alonzo died at a New Mexico hospital after suffering coughing, vomiting and a fever. Another Guatemalan child, 7-year-old Jakelin Caal, died in U.S. custody on Dec. 8. Both deaths are under investigation.

Skeeter, I agree with you.  Contagious diseases must be coming from the illegals because there are so many of them, at least one (or more) is likely to have a killer disease.  It only takes one with a serious contagious disease to take down the country.  I know that sounds like it couldn't happen, but it can.  As an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), we had to know about these possibilities and how to guard ourselves from getting it.  You can't help someone else if you are the one who needs the help.

Have any of you had a test to see if you have the flu?  Because I got a cold quickly several weeks ago and had immediate complete laryngitis, could not speak a word, my doc tested me to see if it was the flu.  A nurse came in, she wore a mask, had on gloves, in case it was the flu. 

She had two long Q tips, about 6 inches long, one for each nostril.  She put one in and kept pushing it in until it would go no further, then twisted it around and removed it.  Did the same thing with the other nostril.  I was not prepared for her to reach my brain with a Q tip.  It felt like it went that far.  Luckily, it was not the flu.  This cold that is going around, is really bad.  I hope none of you get it.

I have heard that Chinese doctors are now routinely overprescribing antibiotics - for everything. Given every epidemic seems to originate in that region and immigration from China to the US has recently increased exponentially I believe we're in for a hard time in the form of a drug resistant something or other coming from that direction sometime soon.

A U.S. physician who was exposed to Ebola while treating patients in the Democratic Republic of Congo arrived in the United States today and was taken to a secure area at the Nebraska Medical Center.

The 39-year-old physician, who isn't exhibiting symptoms of the deadly virus, was privately transported to the medical center in Omaha, Neb., on Saturday afternoon, officials there confirmed. Ebola, which can spread through direct contact, can incubate for three weeks before an infected person begins showing symptoms.

The physician, whose identity is being withheld due to privacy concerns, will be kept under observation in a secure area for up to two weeks and transferred to a special biocontainment unit if symptoms develop. The center, which is partnered with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, has previously treated Ebola patients.

"This person may have been exposed to the virus but is not ill and is not contagious," said Ted Cieslak, an infectious diseases specialist at the medical center. "Should any symptoms develop, the Nebraska Medicine/UNMC team is among the most qualified in the world to deal with them."

The physician was working at a missionary hospital in the DRC and treated a severely ill patient who subsequently tested positive for Ebola, according to a government official with knowledge of the case. The physician one day later received the experimental Ebola vaccine as a post-exposure preventive measure and has been under observation for a week.

The father did not give him any food or water.  Father said border patrol had nothing to do with boys death.  They DO bring in all old world diseases, that America had eradicated. Entovirus, flus, whooping cough, measles, TB, Polio, etc.

Most of the bugs coming out of China are viruses, and antibiotics only help with other, opportunistic, bacterial infections.

Seems that everyone (with the help of the media) is blaming the US for these deaths when  these kids were most likely seriously ill long before they entered to the US.  I'd venture that by the time these children arrived, even the best medical care would not have saved them. 

These illegals and so-called refugees come from countries where health care and even personal hygiene are practically non-existent.  They are bringing with them diseases this country hasn't seen in decades, plus some new ones.  In my neck of the woods there have been several cases of acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) which has struck children with paralysis (sometimes permanent).  Up until maybe a decade ago, the illness was unheard of and until this year, AFM was extremely rare.  Now suddenly, there are something like 500 cases of it nationwide.   Seems to me there is a correlation between all these new and formerly eradicated illnesses and the surge of invaders coming here

EBOLA first hit these shores during the Obama Administration (2015) during the outbreak in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. These aren't the first cases here. That outbreak killed some 10,000 there, of the 4 cases reported in the US, only one died. The virus has been known to linger in the host, even after recovery from the disease (should that occur).

With the southern refugees, add Enterovirus D-68, Chagas disease, and others.

The new face of biological warfare could be a smiling kid's.
