President Trump on Thursday threatened to veto Democratic bills, including an infrastructure bill, until Congress approves legislation to expand the southern U.S. border wall.

“The Democrats, who know Steel Slats (Wall) are necessary for Border Security, are putting politics over Country,” Trump tweeted Thursday morning. “What they are just beginning to realize is that I will not sign any of their legislation, including infrastructure, unless it has perfect Border Security. U.S.A. WINS!”

Someone ought to put the video of Nancy Pelosi doing her grannydance on infinite loop on every computer screen in the White House and Mar a lago until he vetoes the CR and closes the government.

This particular veto threat seems to apply to the incoming Democratic controlled House. The lame duck CR went through channels yesterday. If it gets vetoed, the president is going to have problems with Senate leadership and that is something he does not want.


Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn has just emerged from a lunch on Capitol Hill with Vice President Mike Pence and told CNN that President Trump will sign the clean Continuing Resolution to keep the government funded through Feb. 8.

“He will sign a clean CR,” Cornyn told CNN.
