How Never-Trumpers Have Become Unhinged

There are many terms for turncoats.  Benedict Arnold, who turned on the Colonies in the Revolutionary War, comes to mind. Judas turned on Jesus. A “quisling” has become a commonplace term used for people who betray a cause or a country.  Most people do not know Quisling was actually a Norwegian traitor during World War II.  Never-Trumpers are not exactly up on the traitor standards of these three collaborators, but their actions border that.

After the Kavanaugh hearings, many people who had previously questioned President Trump came home to the Republican Party.  They saw the savagery of the Dems against the former member of the Bush administration, Bush appointee to the Appeals Court, and perceived mainstream Republican.

First of all....there's a big/huge difference.... between having concerns over someone like Trump, as CIC, considering his previous judgment on certain business issues.... and being a turncoat or a traitor.   I suspect that many or most of the NT's here fall into the category of "having concerns"... including myself.

Secondly.... just because folks that "have concerns over Trump's judgment" rallied around Kavanaugh during the witch-hunt hearings.... doesn't mean that we/they "came home to the Republican Party".   But... nice dream there.

Never Trumpers feel that their right, to lose again,  in a highly dignified manner, with yet another of their weak candidates, is their entitlement.

--Will Milt Rominey buy or lease his home in DC?

--Will Paul Ryan keep a house in DC?

--When the GOP returns to normal in 200, who will be their designated dignified loser?

I'm just so damn disappointed that at this years end we have so little to show for having a majority in both houses of Congress + the Executive for 2 years and the icing on the cake is that somehow I as a NT'er is to blame. I made it to the part in the opinion piece of comparing Never-Trumpers to that of Judas turning on Jesus. The broad brushing of "never-trumpers" as being people like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan folks again shows that they still do not understand that most real life meat eating conservatives that are not worshiping the Orange One is not due to they being Rinos, but because they actually have roots far to the right of both Trump and Congress.

Who has not been off to a good start so far. At this pace Kavanaugh may easily prove the NT'ers' vindication. Not that his base will care; to them, "Everything is Awesome" as long as Trump is king, and anyone hurt by his policies deserved it anyway.

Don't be depressed.  Just consider how much worse things "could" be.  I thank God every day for a beautiful day (even when it's cold as hell and raining). 

Because ...every day that I wake up in my own home, with privacy and comfort and freedom....and with my lovely fur babys to spoil....

vs. waking up in a prison or concentration camp somewhere .... or homeless on the streets.... or in some leftie hell-hole (like California) being inundated and victimized with leftist utopian policies....

is a beautiful day.

There is a very large continuum of people who "have concerns," not all of them are "NTs."  I have always had concerns, but I somehow evaded being called a Never.

   Indeed we have my Friend, @TomSea things have changed for me, politically in the last 6 months in regards to my admiration for Ted Cruz though.  I didn't vote for him last month, sat out the election instead, as is my prerogative.  It's not because he seems to support Trump much more these days it's because in doing so, on some issues, he has abandoned Conservatism  ie...that last Budget Vote for example. 
   I know we had some major disagreements this past year Tom but I do admire your time and effort in making TBR a better place.   Merry Christmas to you and those that are dear to you, sincerely.

My thoughts exactly. With the recent closure of the American Spectator, One would think Trump and Trump enthusiasts could be gratious winners and focus their ire where it belongs: on the Democrats. Instead you have Trump posting a totally classless, gloating tweet and posts like this. Makes me think something from the NT crowd must have hit close to home.
