‘The President Was Terrific’: Ted Cruz Applauds Trump for Taking on Pelosi and Schumer Over Border Security

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) praised President Donald Trump for holding top Democrats’ feet to the fire on border security.

On Tuesday, Trump sat down in front of the press with Minority Leaders Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to discuss their meeting on the final appropriation bills, including the one that will decide the future of Trump’s border wall.

The meeting was quite contentious. As IJR previously reported, the central dispute between the two sides was that Trump has threatened to shut down the government if he is not given funding for the border wall.

As IJR Blue reported, Schumer sees Trump’s shutdown threat as nothing but a “temper tantrum,” but that’s not how Cruz saw it.

Cruz told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he thought Trump was doing what he promised he would do during his campaign: He fought for Americans who want a wall to secure the southern border.

Cruz has always been a disciple of Conservatism.  It's always nice to see Trump chime in from time to time albeit short-lived.
