Time to do it again.

Operation Wetback, U.S. immigration law enforcement campaign during the summer of 1954 that resulted in the mass deportation of Mexican nationals (1.1 million persons according to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service [INS], though most estimates put the figure closer to 300,000). Drafted by U.S. Attorney General Herbert Brownell, Jr., and vetted by Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Operation Wetback arose at least partly in response to a portion of the American public that had become angry at the widespread corruption among employers of sharecroppers and growers along the Mexican border and at the Border Patrol’s inability to stem the influx of illegal workers.

No, but a lot of people would definitely be triggered if Trump started talking about Operation Wetback. Politics is about pragmatism. I'm all about getting rid of these people, but how we word the message is important.

1. Many seasonal  farm workers had been admitted, needed while16,000,000 Americaans served in uniform, many overseas.

IOW to temporarily to do jobs Americans were not at home to do. But by 1954 the war plus occupations were over years previously.

But seasonal workers continued, as needed, and legally.

United Farm Workers leader Cesar Chaves, would by the 1970s, oppose illegal immigration, as bad for wages of legal workers.

The permanent magnet was 1986 when Reagan gifted America with a big phat blunder, the full impact of which is sadly known.

Yet far too many Republicans continue to support amnesties. Jorge Boosch II for example. I'm sure Jebie would, too.

Before the government gave them drivers licenses, ITIN's.  Let them buy houses and property, businesses and cars.  Before lawyers made a fortune defending illegal immigrants.  Before illegal immigrants could vote for Democrats.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Liberal sites like Vox think Trump wants to bring back the Wetback deporation of 1954.

I didn't mean to express dissatisfaction with the title. He said "Time to do it again." I agree with that, but maybe next time we should change the name for marketing reasons.
