Fox News interviewed members of the thousands-strong migrant mass heading toward the U.S. border Tuesday morning.

The embedded reporter spoke with multiple members of the march and received some stunning answers. One migrant told the reporter that there were many “criminals” traveling in the caravan.

“Criminals are everywhere,” the migrant said through an interpreter. “It’s criminals in here. It is. But it is not that many. It is good people here trying to get through Mexico and then get to the United States. It doesn’t mean that everybody is a criminal.”

The embedded reporter spoke with multiple members of the march and received some stunning answers. One migrant told the reporter that there were many "criminals" traveling in the caravan.

"Criminals are everywhere," the migrant said through an interpreter. "It's criminals in here. It is. But it is not that many. It is good people here trying to get through Mexico and then get to the United States. It doesn't mean that everybody is a criminal."

The firsthand account appears to refute the narrative that the migrant caravan is simply people searching for a better home.

In a tweet Monday, Trump said that "Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in" with the migrant caravan. (RELATED: Train Of Central American Migrants Swells In Number Despite Warnings From Trump)

Sadly, it looks like Mexico's Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!

Late Monday, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said she "absolutely" has evidence that "suspected or known terrorists," are attempting to enter the country illegally every day.

OK, regardless of the self-contradiction in the article the bottom line is still this -- ARE THERE CRIMINALS?

It seems the answer is "Yes".

But how many is "many" or "not that many"

It would appear that most want jobs, not "support".   This is a consequence of the United States' current economic boom.    The jobs are here, not in Honduras.

I'm not supporting illegality, by the way.   I support a rational increase in legal immigration so employers can get the workers they need.

Then they should get off their asses.    For the last several months, the number of posted jobs have exceeded by many thousands the number of folks who say they are looking for work.  Many are either unwilling to take the sorts of jobs that immigrants will gladly do,  or employers would rather hire immigrants because they show up for work on time and put in an honest and sober day's labor.

Getting rid of welfare for the able-bodied would be a good start.

The only way to deal with the situation is to motivate Mexico to deal with them. Close borders to all commerce, double drug interdiction efforts, stop all money wire transfers to Mexico and suspend the new trade deal until appropriate action is taken.

The laws regarding the conditions for asylum need to change.  Otherwise, what will happen is what I've described:   They will be processed for asylum by means of an initial interview.  If they pass that interview (and many if not most will), they will be given a monitoring device and released into the U.S. pending a court date.  Most will not show up for the court date and be absorbed into the underground economy and the institutions that enable it.   If they keep their noses clean,  they could be here for years.

Between 2008 and 2014, 40% of all murder convictions in Florida were criminal aliens. In New York it was 34% and Arizona 17.8%.  During those years, criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York, while illegal aliens constitute only 5.6% of the total population in those states. That 38% represents 7,085 murders out of the total of 18,643.

These number come from data collected by the GAO.
