CNBC 10/24/2018

The Trump administration has not settled on a plan for what to do if a migrant caravan arrives at the southern border, despite threats by President Donald Trump to declare a national emergency or rescind aid from the countries whose people are journeying north.

Top immigration officials and close Trump advisers are still evaluating the options in closed-door meetings that have gotten increasingly heated in the past week, including one that turned into a shouting match as the caravan of about 7,000 people pushes north, according to administration officials and others with knowledge of the issue. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak publicly on the topic.

The caravan, at least 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometres) away, comes on the heels of a surge in apprehensions of families at the border, which has rankled Trump but has also given him a fresh talking point to rally his base ahead of the midterm elections just two weeks away.

But the president's inner circle on immigration is grappling with the same problems that have plagued them for months, absent any law change by Congress.

Some in Trump's administration, like Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, advocate for a diplomatic approach using relationships with Honduras, Mexico, and El Salvador and the United Nations to stop the flow of migrants arriving to the U.S.

"We fully support the efforts of Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico as they seek to address this critical situation and ensure a safer and more secure region," Nielsen said in statement earlier this week that noted her department was closely monitoring the possibility of gangs or other criminals that prey on those in "irregular migration."

Nothing but white noise...Trump knows exactly what he's going to do, he's just not tipping his hand.

I hope his plan includes fire hoses/ water cannons. tear gas, and other non-lethal methods.

We don't yet know where they will show up or in how many places or in what numbers. The plan at this time can't be precise.

It seems that FASCAM ADAM is ideal for this situation.  Why, we even have some 155 mm gun crews with experience in Syria.

The Marxist Democrats have put Trump (and the GOP) in a bind. If he uses force to stop this invasion
he'll be portrayed as Hannibal Lector. If he doesn't he'll be breaking his number one campaign promise
It's a lose lose for Trump and the GOP thanks to the anti-American Democrats. Vote R in Nov.

We still don't know how many we're talking about.  The news reports fantastic numbers, from 7 to 14 thousand, and the big unknown is how many can make it past the Willa aftermath.  It hit landfall a Cat 3 Hurricane with 120 MPH winds, and has dropped a lot of rain, especially along the west coast between the shore and the mountains.  It did not weaken as much as was hoped.

I'm looking for reports.  They are not as accurate as the reports we get when hurricanes hit First World countries.  US News coverage has been very poor the whole time Willa has existed.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

Most will pass their initial asylum interview and be released into the U.S. with a monitoring device pending a court date.  Most will never show up in court, and be absorbed into the underground economy and the institutions that enable it.

It’s always wise to take CNBC sources with some skepticism. The only one who knows for certain what will happen next and when and how, is the president.

Also nobody shouted and cursed around the office as much as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and scores of other democrats in meetings. George Bush, not so much.

Just more media constantly agitating, trying to portray an administration in turmoil.

If there really is no plan and what you say happens, it is due to the failure of the administration to use the tools available to them. During the summer, Trump complained about the policy of ‘catch and release,’ even though he knows (or should) that the policy does not have to be observed, after the Jennings v Rodriguez decision this past February.

Put the blame where it belongs, on the anti-American Democrats that refuse to do anything about
our stupid immigration laws and the courts that block any actions this administration takes to
protect our borders and country.

I’m pretty sure the blame falls squarely on the majority we’ve had for two years that hasn’t done a damn thing about it.  In the meantime, whenever Trump blames catch and release, he’s lying.  It’s no longer required and hasn’t been since spring.

Police departments in the United States are reported to have bought a foul-smelling liquid developed in Israel to repel protesters. What is "skunk" and how is it used, asks Yolande Knell.

It is a truly putrid stench. Palestinians who have been sprayed describe it as "worse than raw sewage" and "like a mixture of excrement, noxious gas and a decomposing donkey".

Invented by Israeli firm Odortec, skunk water was first used by the Israeli military against demonstrators in the occupied West Bank in 2008. Since then armoured vehicles equipped with water cannon spraying jets of the stinky liquid have become a regular sight.

What’s the use of voting for people who allow themselves to constantly be put in binds, and who wring their hands in fear of what people will think?

No.  If Trump and his administration won’t do something to stop this mass invasion, the blame will be put right where it belongs.

This talk of sending the military?  Unfortunately it’s starting to sound like more of the red meat he throws to his fans.

Yesterday Dana Loesch said the hurricane aftermath won’t be a factor.  She cited Joe Bastardi as her source.

It takes 60 votes in the Senate to get anything done. The GOP has 51 votes.

There are Republicans who also welcome this invasionary force with open arms.  And I'm not sure Trump is not one of them.

It is an invading army.

Treat them the way one would treat anyone who wishes to overthrow this country and its laws.
