Government Policies Are Driving Doctors To Quit Health Care

Doctors nationwide are burnt out and unsatisfied. Many want to quit the profession entirely, according to a new survey from the Physicians Foundation.

The government deserves much of the blame for doctors' low morale. For years, the feds have cut their pay, meddled in their decisions, and subjected them to mountains of needless paperwork. Physicians are increasingly responding by leaving active medical practice. And many of America's best and brightest are declining to go into the field.

The statistics from the Physicians Foundation survey are alarming. Of the 8,700 doctors queried, fewer than half say they are satisfied with their jobs.  ...

Meddlesome government regulations fuel this dissatisfaction and burnout.

Consider the Obama administration's "electronic health records" mandate, which was included in the 2009 stimulus package. Doctors had to show "meaningful use" of digital medical records starting in 2014 or risk seeing their Medicare and Medicaid payments cut.

President Obama promised that forcing doctors to use EHRs would improve efficiency and reduce mistakes. But that hasn't proven true.

Nearly 40 percent of doctors list EHR design as one of the two things they find least satisfying about their jobs. ...

Obamacare destroyed my practice. So, last year I retired early. Adios to a thirty-five year career.

Obamacare tripled my health insurance monthly payment, and now I have insurance that covers NOTHING. I pay my ridiculously high premium and then pay out of pocket for services in order to save money. Its made a huge dent in my finances and changed my plans for retirement for the worse.

I have to chuckle when I listen to the raw hatred Trump engenders, while Obama cruises along as some sort of beloved ex-head of state. If ever there was a reason to HATE a president...

Don't let the cretins like Pelosi and Reid (and damned near the entire Democratic Party) off the hook though.   I will never forget that Pelosi march with gavel, with them grinning like the asinine jackasses that they are, like they had done something wonderful.... when in reality, they had just screwed over the entire American middle class... and anyone hoping to even become "middle class" in America for another decade.  And let's save some of that blame for the evil mogul behind getting Obama elected, as well... who has worked behind the scenes to destroy our republic.... Soros.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.

This makes it sound like it's something new, when in fact this has been going on ever Barry's signature fiasco was put in place. They destroyed small clinics forcing patients to drive many miles for care, their requirement for electronic record keeping drove many older but competent physicians out of their practices when they either couldn't adapt or afford to purchase a record keeping system. I know for a fact that medicare penalized physicians a escalating percentage of their fee each year they have not come into compliance.

So it makes 'If you like the doctor you have, you can keep your doctor" even more laughable when you know that the system is rigged to drive physicians out of their practices.
