‘Never Trumpers’ unite to back Trump’s battle for Kavanaugh
by Paul Bedard
 | October 04, 2018 12:00 PM

President Trump’s fight for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is breaking up the “Never Trump” coalition of GOP leaders and pundits, many who are now uniting behind the president in advance of Saturday’s Senate confirmation vote.

Rocked by the wall of Democratic opposition no matter what evidence supporting Kavanaugh is presented and impressed with Trump’s solid backing amid a brutal media attack, Never Trumpers are abandoning their opposition in a show of support for the man they once mocked.

One famous Never Trumper even told Secrets that Trump’s unwavering support for Kavanaugh, a long-time public servant who worked for former President George W. Bush, himself in the Never Trump community, plans to vote for reelection.

Nationally syndicated conservative influencer Erick Erickson told Secrets, “For the first time I see myself voting for Trump in 2020. And it has a lot to do with Kavanaugh. He’s not the only reason, but he’s definitely the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

What’s more, he’s receiving calls into his radio show of Republicans shifting to supporting Trump over the judicial fight.

A Yuge moment for the GOP,  they are behind Trump now.  The days of infighting are over.

Flake will be gone soon, and Kasich and Jeb are mere bystanders.

Sucks to be Mitt Romney right now.

Erickson?  Wow.

Interesting.  I wish this hadn't happened to Brett but it has definitely opened some eyes about the left and changed some minds.

No doubt some NTs are angry over how the rats treated Kavanaugh.  Some of that anger will dissipate as soon as he is confirmed.  rats will get more angry when Kavanaugh is confirmed.

Probably myself as well.  It was a moment of clarity.  The damage Trump inflicted on the movement has already been done.  What the left did to Kavanaugh they would do to any of us.  They HATE us, and they cannot be trusted with power.

Ahhh...... over?   You mean.... like..... forever over?

I highly doubt it.

Trump has more than earned never Trumpers support. It's good to see.

Is it so terrible to put America first?

I didn't vote for Trump because I was sure he wouldn't do what he said and I didn't like how he campaigned in the primaries. He has proved he intends to do what he said he would do. It's so rare.

I don't know. Isn't he in the Senate race in Utah? Almost a cinch to win.

We haven't had much coverage of him. I saw an interesting article, will post in appropriate thread.

You know that Shapiro stopped being NT a long time ago, right?

Yes, Romney will win, but he'll be irrelevant once he gets to Washington.

So did Beck..... and Levin, I don't think he has come out and declared support but he supports a lot of what the President says and does and other things, not.  He certainly defends Trump.

And me, too. And a lot of others here, as I have seen recently.

Enough is enough. We have seen the enemy, and it ain't us.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Complacent?  No.  I am optimistic but not complacent.

As for the implacable NT's on this forum, I am not even optimistic.  Hating Trump is their reason for living.  Well, one of their reasons.

Help me here @Emjay  Is there a 12 step recovery program for recovering NT'ers?
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

No @corbe .  But there is a 20 step program.  First step, you must admit you've been wrong.

You've made that painfully obvious @Once-Ler    I hope it makes you happy.
