How, exactly, is that a win for Kavanaugh and/or his family?

It's not.  The only win for Kav and his family is for this fine jurist and human being to be confirmed to the Court.

This attitude of if "it's not Kavanaugh, then next up will be Coney Barrett", is partisanship,  not a win for Judge Kavanaugh and his family.

I don't want Coney Barret on the Court.  I want Brett Kavanaugh.

You gotta love it.

Donald Trump is the one that ran and won, stayed on message, kept his promises and succeeded in accomplishing some amazing things, from boosting the economy to exposing the left wing media as liars.

Yet, every time he speaks he’s gotta listen to a gaggle of critics tell him how he’s doing it all wrong, how he should or should not have said this or that, or how he should have used a different tone, or should have ignored a topic all together.

Tell you what? Trump should start listening to his critics as soon as they can say they’ve racked up a similar list of accomplishments and made it to the pinnacle of three separate fields like Donald Trump has.

I never suggested that Trump fans were stupid.   I suggested Trump himself was stupid for his blindered emphasis on throwing red meat to his base,  when it is more traditional Republicans and independents that need to be persuaded.

Because lickspittles can be smart.

Murkowski: Trump mockery of Ford 'unacceptable'

Collins and Murkowski have not tilted their hand on how they will vote but are under extreme pressure from both sides.

Will this be the excuse they've been looking for to vote no on Kav?

They are characterizing his words as 'mockery'.

There is no way to characterize her testimony and NOT run the risk of making it sounding like mockery.

True.

But, I think some of those critiquing what Trump said as being not that wise are considering that it's giving Collins and Murk a convenient excuse to vote "no".  I can see their point re: that.

As has been mentioned previously, Trump has no filter on his tweets or mouth.  He should carefully consider the overall effect his words can end up having.  That's all.

It is truly amazing.

This site stands alone, for attracting people that don't like Trump, and know better at every step, how he should behave.

When you see the funny vids of media and democrats having their election night breakdowns, realize some TBR members are pretty much still stunned, amazed, confused, befuddles, ignorant--and from that condition, they draw their arrogant self-images of political expertise.

as in "throw red meat"

As in this Trump tactic, calls attention to the dems and their idiotic positions and personalities.

Usual suspects HERE keep telling us, if only Trump talked more nice like Jeff Flake, he would win more.

Clue time. Apparently some haven't learned much.

Jeff Flake is now a "punchline," in conservative, GOP and libertarian circles.

The republican senators are functioning adults.  What it comes down to is this:  If they vote against, it's because they believe the accusers.  If they vote in favor, they don't believe the accusers.  Anybody who makes false allegations of sexual assault or rape deserves to be mocked and prosecuted.  Ford has offered no evidence to back her sensational claims.  No evidence whatsoever.  When asked for the most basic details, she could not provide any.  It's absurd.  She is absurd.  The whole thing reeks of political smear.  I have no problem with Trump's comments, because most fair minded people agree with him.

What Trump can't get through his thick skull is that the Dems are COUNTING on this election being a referendum on him personally.    So styled, the Dems think they can regain the Congress.  The task of the GOP is to nationalize the election on terms favorable to the GOP.    That means the economy,  and, increasingly, the meme that the character assassination of Judge Cavanaugh is reflective of the Dems' creeping evil.    So the media relishes the opportunity, at all times, to turn the spotlight back on Trump, Trump, Trump and his perceived personal foibles.

Why can't the President stick to his prior strategy of keeping his mouth shut and letting the Dems hang themselves?

You got that right!

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Yeah, Trump lucked into his success. He didn’t earn it. It was all an accident, a coincidence.

Donald Trump stumbled into the pinnacle of three different fields: real estate, entertainment and politics...because he just hit a lucky break... it happened as he stood idly by contemplating his navel. He really didn’t work for any of it.
