For the past several weeks, Democrats and their liberal media allies have publicly excoriated Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh over a number of uncorroborated allegations and unverifiable rumors of criminal wrongdoing, essentially convicting and sentencing him to political death in the court of public opinion.

Obviously intent on derailing Kavanaugh’s nomination by creating a massive public outcry and rendering him toxic to moderate Republicans, Democrats had no problems whatsoever in publicly discussing every sordid detail of the allegations and smears hurled at the previously spotless nominee.

Yet in spite of the blatant attempts to assassinate his character and destroy him politically, Kavanaugh managed to clear the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday, with the condition that the FBI open a limited investigation into the several allegations lodged against him.

All indications thus far from that investigation suggest that nothing new will be found to stop Kavanaugh from being confirmed, and now Democrats suddenly want to ensure that any new information discovered about Kavanaugh is kept secret so only members of the Senate and select staffers will be permitted to see what the FBI produces after concluding the probe.

Hilarious.   The rats are trying to give themselves cover for, despite there being no evidence of any wrongdoing of any kind against Kav, their continuation of the Inquisition and ongoing assaults they plan once the FBI is finished investigating.  How typical of them.

I am amazed at the determined effort the left is make to keep a simple traditionalist off the SCOTUS.

Kavanaugh's no ideologue or right wing activist. He's a down-the-middle constitutional literalist and they are going insane trying to destroy him.

It cannot only be about Roe v Wade. There's gotta be something more motivating them.

Yeah.  And as usual.... it matters not to them that logical, thinking adults will wonder why they suddenly..... after the past two weeks' public fiasco they've made out of the hearings and after their public demands for an FBI investigation...... are concerned about keeping things hidden.  Of course.... logical, thinking (and sane) adults are not the atypical Democrat Party constituents, so.... it figures they don't care.  Their supporters aren't bright enough to figure it out.

I wonder if Kavanaugh gets a copy of the report. If so, he presumably could release it to the media (or not) as he sees fit.

This way they can whisper about the cover-up.

That may be part of it, but I suspect that they mainly don't want the public to know, to see in black-and-white form, how badly the conspiracy blew up in their faces.

I think they sense that the FBI investigation will be embarrassing to them--because they already know that their case was fabricated and that their ploys this week haven't panned out for them.  Now they fear that everyone else who is paying any attention whatsoever will know with moral certainty that the accusations were part of a dishonest, illegal conspiracy.

Someone needs to go to jail for the confirmation debacle.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) said that in his 38 years on the Senate, "an FBI report, as far as I know, has never been made public" and that it could hurt the FBI in future investigations if the report was made public.

I believe actually they wish to secret the file but selectively divulge any tidbits that may be perceived as detrimental to Kavanaugh.

It is their mode of operation.

So there has never been reports that were selectively leaked regardless of their secrecy?

Maybe the FBI found some corroborate evidence that tied Senate democrats to a criminal conspiracy to derail Kav........   with most arrows pointing to difi.

How better to squash that than sealing the investigation.

Well..... if that were the case and the precedent set..... why did DiFi feel the need to "seal the investigation"?  Wouldn't it automatically be sealed?

Nah.  I agree with IsailedawayfromFR's analysis below.   They intend on selectively leaking it.... for political gain and purposes....

like they always do.

Folks, stop frettin' about "the report".

I gotz this feelin' that it's gonna be about 12 pages long, with most of those pages nearly empty !!   ;)
