That's right. That is why I do not believe there will be a week delay to 'investigate'. Since there is nothing to investigate in the first place. I'm not even sure the FBI will take the case. A 17 year old boy groping a girl at a party where they were both drinking is not exactly their forte. No date. No address. No witnesses. No details at all. Imagine if you were assigned the investigation. How would you even start?
Primarily, the FBI will interview Mark Judge. I think Kavanaugh is completely innocent, but Judge may not be. See my post to
@massadvj 's recent topic about Ford's testimony about her genetic disposition to anxiety. My suspicion is that Judge and another kid (not Kavanaugh) may have attacked Ford, but Ford has misidentified Kavanaugh as the second person. So, Kavanaugh may in part have been trying to protect his old friend Judge from old skeletons being unearthed.
Or perhaps Ford is lying outright. I'd love to see the twitter/Facebook posts she deleted.
The GOP's task now, I think, is to make sure the FBI inquiry is limited to the Ford allegation. The copycat allegations should be off-limits; this should focus solely on trying to resolve, if possible, how both Ford and Kavanaugh could reasonably believe they are telling the truth.
