OK folks, the hearing is over.

Is there not a vote scheduled for tomorrow?

If Grassley cancels that vote, you'll know that Flake won't vote with the rest of the Republicans to move the nomination to the floor.

If that's the case, there's no point in pressing this further "in committee". It can't get out-of-committee without Flake's vote.

At that point, there are three options that I can see:
1. McConnell can call a full Senate vote on the nomination, up or down.
2. Mr. Trump can withdraw the nomination
3. Mr. Trump can wait for a Senate recess and then recess-appoint Judge Kavanaugh to the Court.

Addendum:
I hope Flake somehow comes around and does the right thing.
But if he doesn't... which of the above choices shall it be...?

The 2nd half of the day with Kavanaugh absolutely blew me away, it was stunning. Even Murkowski and Collins, never mind Flake, need to vote for him. This is like a once in a lifetime event or at least, very rare. I vaguely remember the Clarence Thomas hearings. He has to be confirmed.

Yes, indeed.

While Ford wasn't credible, I think she came off as sympathetic to many. She's obviously had a tough time and is profoundly affected by something in her past- but Kavanaugh was certainly not the cause of her pain.

You're right, open forum, no one should be censored, and comments are free.

I don't know what saying or word you're talking about. And as for the TOS link, that thread is 14 years old. Now they post the F word and it stays up, so I wouldn't use them as any kind of standard.
