If the Democrats are allowed to get away with this, this country will NEVER be the same again.  My eldest son who dislikes President Trump very much and never misses an opportunity to tell me.... called me twice today to say what a joke and travesty this was today.

Democrats are now objecting to Sen. Grassley entering into the record the sworn statements from all named witnesses by Ford denying any knowledge or memory of any of her allegations. INCREDIBLE.

That is the whole Dem strategy. They certainly don't want to ask Ford any questions that might trip her up.
I did expect a little more from the prosecutor. I know she was trying to set Ford up, but she never got close to asking her tough questions. That might have been by design as well.
Obviously, the Dems and Soros have put a lot of money behind Ford testifying. Her lawyers' claims of doing it pro bono only means she, Ford, isn't paying them. They're getting money from other sources.

I don't find her claim that she didn't know that committee members would go to her in California to be credible at all.  I knew about it, why didn't she?  There are two possibilities:

1.  Her attorney didn't inform her, in which case they could be disbarred. This would also require her to be in complete isolation -- no TV, no radio, no internet.  Under the circumstances she wasn't the least bit curious regrading what the media was reporting?

2.  She perjured herself.

Occam's razor tells me the second explanation is correct.

So Leland, whose testimony is matched by others, must be unable to remember the alleged party because she has "health issues," but Ford, whose testimony is matched by nobody, must be assumed to be telling the truth. Why?

Once again I will post this, but everyone here ignores me.

RECESS APPOINTMENT.

1. Cancel the committee vote. Cancel the Senate confirmation vote.
2. McConnell can adjourn the Senate at some point before January 1st.
3. Mr. Trump can then recess-appoint Kavanaugh to the High Court
4. I will speculate that the incoming Senate as of January 2019 will have more Republicans than the one now, and of course Flake and Corker will be gone.
5. I will also speculate that the incoming Senators will be amenable to voting for Kavanaugh to establish their credentials, both with their constituencies but also with the Senate itself.
6. Take the vote and confirm Kavanaugh without further hearings.

Time and time again I've asked:

It's obvious that most of the Senate Republicans -- and perhaps many here -- cannot.

She's supposed to be a PhD psychologist.  Why didn't she go through cognitive therapy years ago to get rid of her fear of flying?  Stuff like that is correctable.

She gives the appearance of being terrified of everything. How did she become a college professor being terrified of so many things?

It may be the GOP considered any scrutiny of Ford and her testimony would be a loser in the eyes of the public in any event, a no win situation for them, and they just wanted to get through it and are counting on Kavanaugh's testimony. After all, with his calendars etc he is very explicit in his denials.

And there's always the possibility - nay likelihood - the rats will overplay their hand and trip over one another to try to lop his head off this afternoon. With any luck at all they'll fall into the PR trap they'd set for the GOP.

That is the only hope, rats over play their hand this afternoon. Judge K deserved a lot better, any investigation would have (IMHO) cleared him. Grassley needs to retire.
