Federal police in Brazil have arrested a fugitive accused of belonging to Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia and of being a key financier of terrorism.

Police said in statement that they took Assad Ahmad Barakat into custody in the border city of Foz de Iguacu on Friday.

Authorities in Paraguay are seeking Barakat on allegations of false representation.

He looks like his involvement is in finances of the organization, he served time for tax evasion in Paraguay. It still makes one wonder what Hezbollah are doing in South America.
