US Customs and Border Protection agent suspected of murdering 4 women, abducting 1 other

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in Texas is suspected of killing four women and abducting a fifth.

Authorities say the man, Juan David Ortiz, was arrested Saturday morning, the Associated Press reported.

The district attorney in Webb County, Isidro Alaniz, said authorities were led to the suspect after a woman he attempted to kidnap escaped.

State troopers arrested Ortiz after finding him hiding in the parking lot of a Laredo hotel.

Alaniz said all four women killed worked as prostitutes, but it is still unclear what Ortiz’s motives were for murdering them.

That's bad, there was another case in the last few years, where Border Patrol agents worked with the crooks in smuggling in contraband or people, I forget which.

This is much much worse of course.

Agent Juan David Ortiz has been arrested after being suspected of killing at least 4 women.



Laredo, TX - State troopers captured a U.S. Border Patrol Agent after he fled from them, and now he's suspected of killing at least 4 women.

Agent Juan David Ortiz allegedly attempted to abduct a woman on Saturday, but she was able to escape.

Texas Department of Public Safety responded and Ortiz fled from the troopers.

Officers were able to locate him hiding in a parking lot in Laredo and they took him into custody.

Undisclosed evidence implicates Ortiz in the murder of at least 4 women, in addition to the abduction of the woman who escaped.  ... More here and at WashPost

That also shows what can or could show what is up and coming through the border.
