Sabato: Cruz looks safe, GOP should keep, maybe expand, Senate
by Paul Bedard
 | September 06, 2018 10:30 AM

Despite facing a high-energy opponent in Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz appears to be headed for reelection and the Republicans are poised to boost their majority in the Senate, according to a new election analysis.

While races are tightening around the country, the Republicans could add two or more seats in the Senate, giving it a 53-47 majority, one that could help the party hold the line on a more conservative agenda should moderates like Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine continue their role as holdouts on some issues.

“At least for now, the elephant endures,” headlines the latest analysis from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics via Larry Sabato’s “Crystal Ball.”

The biggest news in Managing Editor Kyle Kondik’s latest report was that even though the Cruz-O’Rourke race is within single digits, it appears that the Republican will make it across the finish line first.

As election day approaches you can expect to see a lot more like this.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Not sure, but Beto was on with Ellen yesterday and they had a great time together.

Anyone think the people who own those guns are going to vote for a guy who has sworn to take them away?

It's not the Senate the GOP has to worry about but the House of Representatives.

If it flips, say goodbye to tax cuts, a responsible budget or any talk of the Wall.

And say hello to impeachment talk 24X7. In other words, nothing gets done till 2021.

I personally don't think there is anything to worry about in that arena either.

I can't stomach watching any leftist these days.  Had Showtime free for two months and gagged every time the remote came across "Kidding" (Jim Carrey).  On the upside, that show would be a great solution/cure instead of having to take ipecac.

Selzer polling, my favorite who does a great job getting it right, came out today with a generic ballot poll for Grinnell College, Ithaca on the Prairie, with the Dems having a +2 lead.

This ought to make the Dems crap their pants, considering on a generic they should be up +10 to even begin to feel comfortable.

Can hardly stand to visit leftists cities either.

Went today to downtown aquarium here in Seattle where daughter lives and walked by a homeless guy with sign that read "I need weed."

Wouldn't that swell you with pride if you lived in this place?

It's strange about what happened to Jim Carrey.  I couldn't stand to watch him because he was, well, unwatchable (I did watch 50 First dates which he almost ruined).

But to go completely insane as he apparently has ... I did not see that coming.

Heh, back in 97 I worked in Key West for a winter. They had the fattest "homeless" I ever saw.You had the nasty ones demanding money... and some with talent playing guitar.

Fun times...Mallory Square with Halley's Comet..... the Street acts... and this Simple Bricklayer made Honory Conch, by the hand of Mayor  Emeritus Wilhelmina Harvey Herself.
