West Monroe PD: Undocumented immigrant accused of having sex with minor

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - West Monroe Police have arrested a 25-year-old man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old.
According to court records, Eliezer Tetlactle Merino is accused of going to pick her up from her home on August 19th, after which she stayed with him for several days. Sometime between then and August 23rd, police believe the two had sexual intercourse three times.
Police say the suspect admitted to knowing that the child he was with was 14-years-old. Police also say they found the child's clothes, school books, and a small bag of marijuana at the suspect's home on Bailey Street.
Authorities also believe that Merino is in the country illegally. They say he has been deported from the country twice: once in 2012 and once again in 2013.
