  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
And now, after hearing the poor young woman's name every hour on the hour on the news, her story will disappear like a fart in the wind.

If it were a white man wearing a MAGA hat or if she was shot with a gun we'd still be hearing about it. Unfortunately, it was a Mexican illegal that killed her and that's exactly what Trump has been criticized for exposing.

And those with TDS will keep on crying about Trump while ignoring this incredible problem. I've already seen one of them here blame this on him. That's an astounding twist.

Sadly, action will only come when some lefty politician loses a family member to one of these scumbags. Maybe then they'll understand.
Where's that wall? Are we waiting for Mexico to pay some earnest money or what?

Seriously, this isn't a Trump issue so much as an ongoing National Security issue that has been recognized since "Operation Wetback" during the Eisenhower Administration. Instead of securing the borders, (not  that some aren't trying), the Congress has fallen on its face on the issue, no matter who is in control of the House and Senate, and the States in Rebellion--"Sanctuary States" (and smaller jurisdictions) should have every Federal dime denied them until they are back in line on national immigration policy and enforcement.

Regardless of who is in what office, I haven't seen that happen. Call that observation what you will, but trying to make this thread disappear into cheeseville because of some NT/AT catfight is BS.

Responsibility for this girl's murder also rests on congress (both parties), the current president and several former presidents. plus every judge that ever prevented deportation of illegals or interfered with enforcement of current immigration laws and procedures.

The current president is doing everything he can to fix our broken immigration system. He does not
deserve any blame. Blame Charter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama.

While I'm not a woman, when we wanted to get away by ourselves and clear our heads, we went hunting, or even just took the rifle and went 'plinking'.  For some reason, no one messed with us...

I can understand wanting to be away from people, something you just can't get at a gym, but being armed, especially for a woman in this day and age, should be pretty much standard.

I would love to be armed, and I'm not a woman.

On the other hand this is CA and I don't wanna risk spending a year in jail for carrying without a permit or being plinked by some hypertense cop.

Don't leave out Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon, and every iteration of the US Congress since Eisenhower was in office.

California has its problems, and they start with the whole sanctuary city/State thing. If the government there would enforce, or at least stop subverting Federal Law, maybe those problems would diminish. We already import vast quantities of produce from elsewhere, and I seriously doubt that the people coming here are doing so to pick lettuce.

Fun fact - less than two percent of the illegal alien community is engaged in agriculture. Anyone who uses the 'who'll pick the lettuce' argument is pulling our leg.

Yes, he's a dismal failure, but at least he tried.

Too bad some people thought he was good at negotiation and getting things done.

@jpsb

It's pretty lame and maybe even shameful that people would use the murder of this poor girl in Iowa to attack the president.

What's next? Blaming Bush for 911? It does show the heavy burden that was on Bush's and that administration's shoulder though, under their watch.  They basically looked at the ME and Iraq through that prism, right or wrong.

We can't have perfect border security with the congress as it is, a fully secured wall but even if we had near perfect security, people would get in. It's always been that way. We don't know if the next person who acts up could be on a visa overstay and things like that.

He has improved the economy.  Nobody, not even the most die-hard Never-Trumpers can "honestly" deny that.  Yeah, I know what you NTers are thinking.  But...but..but... what about the spiraling, out of control national debt/deficit?   I'm talking short term... not long term.  And his decision this December re: that porkulus bill re-up will be the determining factor, IMO.  If he goes back on his words and approves it AGAIN, I'm done.

Stating the simple fact that no one including the current president has done anything to prevent the invasion of illegals is not an attack on the president -- well, at least to those who don't belong to the Trump cult.

Not saying you are wrong, but what is your source3 for this?

Prayers for Tibbetts family & all who knew & loved Mollie. Lots of questions—where did this illegal alien work? what was his work status—but one thing is sure: Mollie would be alive if our government had taken immigration enforcement seriously years ago.

So per Cotton and others have said it, we are not enforcing our laws, we've made some attempts recently.

Well I am wrong. I had heard 2% at some point in the past but after checking again the figure from Pew and repeated by NumberUSA is 4%.

Cotton is probably unaware of the irony in his asking about the 'work status' of an 'illegal alien'.

Right now, too, though, we are working with the info being said that the Farm uses "E-Verify", so there is that too.

Is it possible for an 'illegal alien' to legitimately pass an E Verify check?

We're talking about government here, of course they could pass.
