Mark Warner threatens amendment to block Trump from stripping security clearances

Senate Intelligence Committee vice chairman Mark Warner, D-Va., said Friday he plans on introducing an amendment next week that will prohibit President Trump from stripping critics of their security clearances.

“I will be introducing an amendment next week to block the President from punishing and intimidating his critics by arbitrarily revoking security clearances,” Warner tweeted. “Stay tuned.”

Are security clearances under the purview and authority of Congress or the Executive?

My understanding is that those are Cabinet level issues pertaining to the authority under the CINC.

Typical leftist idiocy.   They don't like the rules or laws currently being adhered to... so just change the rules or the laws to suit their fancy.   Screw that. 

Does Trump have the power to remove Warner from the "Intelligence" Committee?  Because Warner has no business being in any group with the name "Intelligence" involved

I agree but the guy who can remove him  (Mitch "the turtle" McConnell) fits into that same category so it ain't gonna happen.

Publicity stunt as well as a damnfool idea. It is a part of a Presidents RESPONSIBILITY to remove the security clearances of people suspected of committing treason.

Of course his Dim supporters will eat it up.
