Rand Paul to ask Trump to lift sanctions on Russian leaders
« on: August 17, 2018, 08:43:16 pm »

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says he will ask President Trump this weekend to lift sanctions against top Russian officials so they can visit the United States later this year.

Paul said members of both bodies of Russia's legislature had agreed to come to the United States to continue talks after the GOP senator visited Moscow earlier this month.

"They have both agreed to come to Washington in the fall for further meetings. That's a good thing. The downside is the chairman of each of the committees is banned from coming to the United States because of sanctions," Paul told Fox News's Laura Ingraham.

Boy, I was hoping that Rand would be much more different than his kook dad.

Conservatives are often Christians. We are instructed in Scripture to "love our enemy". Shouldn't we be building bridges with Russia, rather than cast them as a eternal adversary? The Berlin Wall was torn down; shouldn't the Russian "Wall" be torn down to? Imagine how both countries would benefit and prosper if we both didn't have to spend multiple billions on the adversarial stance we currently have. Trump is trying to reduce the institutionalized animosity between both nations. Trump is following God's directive when he tries to build bridges and tear down walls. Peace.

I really don't care for love our enemy with nukes. Plus Russia has been dealing with Iran. Helping Assad gas his own people. Until there is new leadership in Russia, I can't trust them one bit.

The sanctions were put on Russia for a reason; they are not to be trusted.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
