Trump: Sessions is 'scared stiff and missing in action'

President Trump ratcheted up his attacks on Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Saturday, tweeting that Sessions was "scared stiff" and "Missing in Action" in defending him amid special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Trump slammed Christopher Steele, the former British intelligence officer at the center of the Trump dossier scandal, and the Justice Department and once again slamming Mueller's investigation as a "witch hunt."

"The big story that the Fake News Media refuses to report is lowlife Christopher Steele’s many meetings with Deputy A.G. Bruce Ohr and his beautiful wife, Nelly. It was Fusion GPS that hired Steele to write the phony & discredited Dossier, paid for by Crooked Hillary & the DNC...." Trump tweeted.

This is weird.  Sessions is Trump's Attorney General.  Several questions:  Why does Sessions take this kind of attack?  Why wouldn't he just resign?

Also why does Trump make this kind of really cruel accusation. Doesn't he have the power to fire his Attorney General?  Or is Trump keeping Sessions on as a scapegoat?

   It may have to do with McConnell and Grassley telling Trump they will not hold a hearing or vote for a replacement, though that was earlier this year so may not be applicable anymore. @Emjay

That said - I have no love for Sessions whatsoever.  He was and is a disaster for liberty in that position, because all he has actually done is to expand Civil Asset Forfeiture and to go after pot smokers while providing cover for Mueller and Gang.

Trump has been picking on Sessions from the beginning.  I think he really got ticked when Sessions recused himself.  Trump may have thought Sessions would do a half-assed investigation of the Russian interference similar to the bogus Hillary investigations and Trump would be cleared  immediately.  Didn't work out that way.  Now he has Mueller, a special counsel Trump also picked, who is taking this investigation seriously and Trump is not happy with him either.

Trump picked Sessions as his AG, correct? I thought Trump picks only the best.  From his track record since becoming president, with administration people coming and going like through a revolving door,  it doesn't look like this is so.  Or he's finding that the people he hires are not willing to cover his backside when he does wrong.

Yes he is.  That is a house divided against itself.  With Trump it was going to be only the best.

However, I suspect Trump would have been unhappy with anyone appointed who didn't just whitewash the investigation.

Doesn't matter who the President is that appointed him, bottom line fact is Sessions is not doing his job. He's recused himself from most of it, especially draining the FBI swamp and Hillary, but then goes after things like opoids and civil forefiture.

It is the 40,000 people in high office that are having sex with kids, ACCORDING TO Q, who is supposed to be a military person close to Trump and Sessions.  These people will be taken to GITMO and will be judged by a military court.  Among names mentioned are Comey, Tillerson, Pence, the Clintons, Huma, John Podesta and his brother, almost any rich person you have heard the name, and overseas the British Royal Family and the Pope.

I have read bunches about this, and not one time was there a poor person's name on the list of bad people.  Hmm.

Ninfa's was a staple of Houston for a long time.
The owner of the Mexican restaurant chain was a GHWB supporter.
I worked near the original one on Navigation for 22 years.
I've eaten there several times.
Ninfa herself is gone, but her son has a restaurant.
Sessions was eating there this last week.
The chef took a photo with him and posted it on social media.
This morning, on the news, the owner was apologizing, because of Sessions's stance on illegal immigration.
