Fact:
United Farm Worker Union leader Cesar Chavez, opposed illegal immigration.
The workers the union represented were harmed by illegals, willing to work for lower wages.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesar_ChavezI grew up in a small Calif. town with lots of orchards, and among children of ag workers.
The agricullture began decades before, with workers that were initially seasonal, but became more and more permanent year round.
They lived in Campos, in housing which was originally "company owned," but which they later purchased.
I imagine parts of the entire southwest have many similarities.
