Brett Kavanaugh won’t tip Supreme Court to the right; Democrats should focus on elections

Brett Kavanaugh, based on his record as an appeals court jurist, will be a conservative Justice of the Supreme Court. However, he will not tip the balance of the court right -- It is already to the right.

So what will his confirmation mean?

The political environment in Washington has been plagued by intra-party struggles, inter-party disputes, conflict between the White House and Congress, and ideological struggles.  Gridlock often results.  Problems are not addressed.

In this context, the Supreme Court has come to play a crucial role as an institution that sets policy – and it deals with many significant areas of public policy – first amendment civil liberties issues, civil rights, police and criminal defendant matters, and marketplace and environmental regulations. The decisions they make in these areas and numerous others are crucial.

The Rats need to trump-up the Kavanaugh nomination to stoke up their Commie base.  Their opposition is all about "focus on elections."

Also, although it's a fiction this nomination moves the court to the "right" (there will be a new "swing vote" to replace Kennedy, his name is Roberts.  Look for him to continue waltzing to the dark side), the Rats are setting the stage for an even more violent reaction when one of the confirmed Leftists resigns or croaks, either Ginsberg or Breyer.

Better.... perhaps, maybe you really wanted to make a point of this....

Anyway, the above OP, initial article, is the writers opinion and it would be conventional wisdom but I think there is a chance, Kav could swing it to the right AND of course, a slight chance, he could push it to the left.

I read one analysis that said Kavanaugh would probably be just a bit more conservative than Kennedy. That seems to make some sense but we won't know until we see what kind of record he piles up on the SCOTUS.

They say he has 700 decisions so we should know something already.

No, my point was this:  We'll see Roberts continue his shift to port, and become the swing vote to replace Kennedy.

There will be NO shift to the right.  The Rats know this, and are only using this nomination to fire up their Commie base.
