 On the same day that Venezuela’s “democratically” elected socialist president, Nicolas Maduro, whose once-wealthy nation now has citizens foraging for food, announced he was lopping five zeros off the country’s currency to create a “stable financial and monetary system,” Meghan McCain of “The View” was the target of internet-wide condemnation for having stated some obvious truths about collectivism.

During the same week we learned that the democratic socialist president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, is accused of massacring hundreds of protesters whose economic futures have been decimated by his economic policies, Soledad O’Brien and writers at outlets ranging from GQ, to BuzzFeed, to the Daily Beast were telling McCain to cool her jets.

Young people are easily seduced by socialist screechers because of their...uh...youthful inexperience and the fact that young people tend to believe the idea of everybody helping/feeding one another is the ideal system.  Like Wavy Gravy at Woodstock..."we're all feeding each other." Most young people are still supported by their parents and favor a system like the one where their parents step in and bail them out of financial problems. As people get older they find their parents are (1) less likely to give their grownup children money  or (2) their parents are dead and cannot give them more moolah.
As I've gotten a lot older I find the idea of people staying off my lawn and fending for themselves to be much more appealing.
If you come knocking on my door and appear to be an emaciated wretch in need of a sandwich, I will give you one. Then I might tell you where there are jobs to be found so you can try to feed yourself without burdening others.   ****slapping
