Darrell Issa: ‘ Nobody’s going to be surprised’ if Trump lied about Trump Tower meeting
by Kelly Cohen
 | July 28, 2018 01:21 PM

Rep. Darrell Issa alleged in a Saturday interview that “nobody’s going to be surprised” if President Trump allowed the 2016 June Trump Tower meeting to go ahead.

The remarks by the California Republican came during an interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on what scrutiny and legal trouble the president could be in if we knew about the meeting Donald Trump Jr. had where he was told he could get dirt on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“But what if he’s proven to be a liar, congressman?” Cavuto asked.

“If he’s proven to have not told the whole truth about the fact that campaigns look for dirt, and if someone offers it, you listen to them, nobody’s going to be surprised,” Issa said. “There are some things in politics that you just take for granted.”

“You don’t think this has any long-term impact?” Cavuto asked. “He wouldn’t be the first politician, or president for that matter, to maybe just misrepresent things?”

Considering only Donny haters care and 95% of the country doesn't give a shit about this phony Russia story, nobody will care either.

Trump supporters might not care if he lied about this meeting, or any of the immeasurable  number of lies he has told over the years, but for many of us, habitual lying by the guy who is supposed to be our leader does matter.  Not saying he should be perfect and yes, I'm sure we all have lied about something at one time or another, so ordinarily, it would be wrong for us to judge.  But if he lies about a meeting, what else is he lying about?  And who knows what lies he has told that might cause us all rreparable harm -- maybe not right away, but sometime in the future?

This country is going to hell in a handbasket because we have turned a blind eye to immorality, especially of those people who should be leading us by example.

@Applewood

There is a group following how many times he lies and the average so far is 6 times a day.

The Washington Post and others have lists of false and misleading claims.  I think the Post is up to around 5,000.

Do you have a link to that group?

Issa is simply conditioned to the fact that anyone in high office is immune from any kind of repercussions for nefarious, negligent and notorious behavior.

After all, how many committees did he have looking into Hildabeast?

Anything ever come out of the Benghazi hearings?

Anything ever come of the treason of e-mail servers in bathrooms?

Why is Lois Lerner walking around without an orange jumpsuit in shackles?

Issa is like a recording that will spew "No one is going to be surprised by anything anyone does in office - it doesn't matter - so shut up and go away".
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

The name was given and I don't remember it but it was only a day or so ago.  I'll see if I can find it now and get back to you.

Yes, Issa has been a massive disappointment -just another corrupt,  lazy lump in DC. All show, but in the end, he's a big nothing.

Sad thing is so many Trump supporters at one time railed against the lies, corruption and perhaps treason of Obama and his accomplices.  But if it's Trump doing the same or similar, they really don't care.

Issa sold out long ago just like Gowdy, but Cavuto is definitely a commie, pinko NT'er!
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Here it is - the Washington Post's Fact-Checker

"The Washington Post's Fact-Checker blog has been keeping a strict count of President Donald Trump's many misstatements, untruths and outright lies. And, over the weekend at a rally in Michigan, Trump hit a(nother) milestone: He topped 3,000 untrue or misleading statements in 466 days in office.

That means that, on average, Trump says 6.5 things that aren't true a day. Every. Single. Day. (Trump is actually picking up the pace when it comes to not telling the truth; he has averaged nine untruths or misleading statements a day over the past two months, according to the Post's count.)"

Yes.  "It's not corruption or malfeasance or lying when WE DO IT!"

But this is what automatically happens when you discard principles to attain power for power's sake.  Then they go after those who will not surrender their principles for pragmatism and declare us to be an enemy equal to or greater than what they say they are fighting against.

Because when winning is all that matters, how you 'win' no longer matters either.
