Meghan McCain Explains Democratic Socialism: ‘Name One Country’ That Has Successfully Used Socialism

Meghan McCain went after Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the fundamental concept of socialism on Tuesday’s episode of “The View.”

“This makes my head explode, which, by the way, I hope Democrats do run a Democratic Socialist — no, because I think you’ll look spectacularly and then I’ll look forward to election night when I finally get to tell everyone ‘I told you so’ if you end up running a radical,” McCain said.

“The problem with socialism, in the words of Margaret Thatcher: ‘At a certain point you run out of spending other people’s money.’ Venezuela, one of the richest countries in the world in the 70s — now the average Venezuelan has lost 24 pounds because they’re starving to death,” she continued. “Ninty percent of the country is living in poverty. This is what I need from her. Name one country [where] socialism has ever worked.”

Not a huge fan of Meghan but she is totally right here.

Problem is liberals still think that if they could somehow get rich people's money, things would be better for them.

She is exactly right.  That is what the GOP needs to run on; point out how the left's social programs, all the way back to LBJ's Great Society, have failed.  Point out how liberalism hasn't worked in the past, isn't working now and certainly won't work in the future.

That's true.  I can't even relate to them about the purpose of taxes.  I say "collect money," they say "to redistribute wealth."
