The Mueller special counsel investigation was launched to probe charges that the key FBI officials developing evidence in the case thought were baseless. That’s a bombshell accusation that appears to have been confirmed by lovebird-turned-songbird Lisa Page, according to John Solomon. It tends to confirm the suspicion that the Mueller probe is a cover-up operation to obscure the criminal use of counterintelligence capabitiies to soy on a rival presidential campaign and then sabotage the presidency that resulted.

[...]

Last night, John Solomon of The Hill revealed that he  has obtained information from sources that heard Page’s testimony in two days of sworn depositions behind closed doors that she offered a bombshell confirmation of the meaning of one of the most enigmatic text messages that the public has seen (keep in mind there are many yet to be released).

Opinion: One FBI text message in Russia probe that should alarm every American
The Hill, Jul 19, 2018, John Solomon

<snip>

It is no longer in dispute that they held animus for Donald Trump, who was a subject of their Russia probe, or that they openly discussed using the powers of their office to “stop” Trump from becoming president. The only question is whether any official acts they took in the Russia collusion probe were driven by those sentiments.

The Justice Department’s inspector general is endeavoring to answer that question.

For any American who wants an answer sooner, there are just five words, among the thousands of suggestive texts Page and Strzok exchanged, that you should read.

That passage was transmitted on May 19, 2017. “There’s no big there there,” Strzok texted.

Since the text was turned over to Congress, investigators wondered whether it referred to the evidence against the Trump campaign.

This month, they finally got the chance to ask. Strzok declined to say — but Page, during a closed-door interview with lawmakers, confirmed in the most pained and contorted way that the message in fact referred to the quality of the Russia case, according to multiple eyewitnesses.

The admission is deeply consequential. It means Rosenstein unleashed the most awesome powers of a special counsel to investigate an allegation that the key FBI officials, driving the investigation for 10 months beforehand, did not think was “there.”

Report: Lisa Page revealed under oath that there was no basis for Mueller’s appointment

That’s a bombshell accusation that appears to have been confirmed by lovebird-turned-songbird Lisa Page, according to John Solomon. It tends to confirm the suspicion that the Mueller probe is a cover-up operation to obscure the criminal use of counterintelligence capabitiies to spy on a rival presidential campaign and then sabotage the presidency that resulted.

Earlier reports indicated that Page has been answering questions from the House Judiciary Committee quite frankly, and may even have cut a deal selling out her ex-lover Peter Strzok over their professional misbehavior (and quite possibly worse) in targeting the campaign and presidency of Donald Trump with the intelligence-gathering tools of the FBI.

Damn!  Who would have EVER thought that?  /s

Yeah, this feels kinda like if you bought a jigsaw puzzle looking forward to solving it, but when you turn the box over on the table all the pieces fall together. Just like that.

Whatever, people.  The guy you all mooned over in the Strzok hearing said there was cause for a probe.

REP. GOWDY: I actually don't think it has any impact on the Russia probe for this reason —

MARGARET BRENNAN: The memo has no impact on the Russia probe?

REP. GOWDY: No-- not to me, it doesn't — and I was pretty integrally involved in the drafting of it. There is a Russia investigation without a dossier. So to the extent the memo deals with the dossier and the FISA process, the dossier has nothing to do with the meeting at Trump Tower. The dossier has nothing to do with an email sent by Cambridge Analytica. The dossier really has nothing to do with George Papadopoulos' meeting in Great Britain. It also doesn't have anything to do with obstruction of justice. So there's going to be a Russia probe, even without a dossier.

Even after the election, there are emerging concerns about Russian influence in the administration.  Paul Erickson wanted a spot on the transition team, but ran into difficulty with his security clearance.  Why?  Probably due to his involvement with Maria Butina.  Despite that, Erickson was able to convince people in the admin to consider KT McFarland for Deputy National Security Advisor.  McFarland was involved in the Kislyak meetings with Flynn.  He was fired and she had to pull her Singapore nomination after emails showed she lied about her knowledge of the meetings.

So, we have a Republican consultant sleeping with a Russian recently arrested for spying.  That consultant suggests McFarland, who was ill-suited for the job.  She helps arrange meetings with the Russian ambassador that gets him fired and mired in a guilty plea.  Nothing to see here, at all.
